I found this through a margin ad on one of Second Life's own webpages: http://www.secondlifecheaters.com/It purports to give (well, sell) you cheats to copy anything, and even to create an artificial bank balance amount. I HOPE that, like most of these sites, it's bogus. If not, I hope LL gets on their case smartly.

Correction: the link wasn't on this site, it was once removed, on the Mappa Novus site.

Take it with a grain of salt.... or do you believe all those "be a billionaire" infomercials on late night TV also (thats exactly what that site seems like) also if this person TRUELY has a L$ balance over L$1billion, you gotta ask yourself WHY... seriously.... who would hoard US$3.8 MILLION dollars? If that was my balance, I'd cash out immediately seriously people... dont get scammed reading further, you dont even pay, it makes you visit a site... which is multi-level marketing or whatnot... I can bet the "secret" is to make a similar site and get traffic to it, something like hippie-pay but on the web instead.... its almost amusing how some can read 'cheat' and have coronary thinking someone found something that a staff at LL and a massive amount of open-source programmers havent UPDATE: seems whoevers site it is, is running it off their companies webserver lol Tracing route to secondlifecheaters.com [216.104.161.119] <removed hops> 14 202 ms 191 ms 244 ms www.sgis.com [216.104.161.119]

Right from the get go, they've got a problem, in that they're using the various Second Life marks without permission.
Also.
"This is the Only Second Life Cheating site you can trust!"
Does anyone else see the irony here?

Wasn't too hard to work out the password to get the guide from this site - no illegal efforts required, the picture with the password just isn't blurry enough!
The link to the "item duper" is broken. Which is just as well, given the warning "Please Note: The use of such programs may be against the game rules. If you get caught using one of these programs you may have your account banned. We are not resposible for any such actions if you use these programs! Use at your own risk."
The guide is 5 pages long, and contains such gems of information as "To talk to those around you, simply type in the chat box at the bottom of the screen" and "Sometimes when there are a lot of avatars around, the game can lag some, so it is best to fly above it". There IS advice in the guide about becoming rich in SL though - "Just like real life, you need skills for an employer to hire you." Priceless.

This did the rounds a couple of weeks ago, and the only person that wins out of all this is the guy with the website.
"Ring Ring" "Hello, Linden Lab Customer Service" "Um, yeah, I logged into a cheat website, it asked for my SL name and password, now I've logged in, all my land has been sold and my money is all gone, can you help me?" "Yes, unplug your computer, and throw it in the bin, you're clearly too stupid to use the internet <click>"
(not an actual conversation)
Who'd be dumb enough to keep almost $4,000 of game money in their SL account without cashing some out into US$? Actually, if you dig around on that website, you can find the untouched screenshot that he modified from his L$1,000 or so balance to make it look like he really had over a million lindens.
I get emails almost daily from Microsoft telling me I've won the email lottery, Nigerian millionaire princesses and people from the Ivory Coast needing my help getting their late parent's fortune out of the country. I think the funniest one was a UK based scammer, who gave an address and postcode in a prestigeous area of London ... which turned out to be the location of the world famous store Harrods.
Oh, and the "help guide" is hopelessly out of date (I think it quotes 'almost a million residents'), and suggests you make money by camping.
The only way to get rich in Second Life is either by hard work, or scamming others (such as this way, or landbot theft) ... I'd recommend the first any time.

Far too much effort. If you look in the html source you'll find the URL to go to, to get the "guide". Matthew
