Are there any groups out there that allow homeowners to show off their hard work decorating their homes? Like a Tour of Homes event?

I spent a lot of time getting the right furniture, putting it in the right places, and making new objects when I couldn't buy what I wanted. (Moving the virtual couch was murder on my virtual back!) I tried one furniture scheme, found it didn't feng shui for me, tried another, rinse, lather, repeat. After all that toil I sat back and admired my handiwork...all by myself...it was lonely.

I showed my partner, but he's my partner. He probably thought "Why can't you do that with our apartment" but he said he liked it and it looked good. =) You know, like you'd expect.

I don't want to sell any of it, but I also don't want to be the only one to enjoy it. However, I like my privacy, so I don't want complete strangers romping through the doors at all hours. A group that schedules tours with their members would be just what I'm looking for. I'm hoping there's a group like that, even if it turns out to just be a big ego stroke. You can learn things from other people's technique.

That is a cool Idea. I would go!

Could it be done as an event? A chain of teleport stations that take you from one home to the next set out only for the event, and maybe get a notecard at each place telling you a bit about it? When the event is over the teleport pads could just be removed? I dunno, but it sounds really fun. I love to see what other people have been up to.

Now that'd be cool! I bet we'd be willing to show off our home for a day or so.

Sounds like a good idea to raise money for your favorite cause.

Hmmm. I'm sure there are product endorsements to be had out there, but most "Tour of Homes" programs give to charity. If I did one, it'd be as free as possible; that way there are more participants.

If businesses chose to back it financially for endorsements, that would have to be something agreed to by all the members. It is their house and their time that they're putting on the line.
