Just wondering, is anybody else having any trouble logging in?

When it's loading up the game, I get to the part where it says 'Loading Region':, but then it stops loading there. My computer is still active, and I just Ctrl + Alt + Delete to get out. But for some reason I can't get past that part, even when I try and bring up a different start location. Am I missing something?

Nope, the login she is working fine.

Can you get in now? Sometimes I get locked out for no apparent reason, but it usually resolves itself within 30 minutes. If not, you need to submit a support ticket (which believe it or not do actually get acted on sometimes).

Still just freezes up on that one spot. I've waited over fifteen minutes at one time for it to load up, but it doesn't. It's strange, I was just finishing decorating my custom made bedroom, and suddenly the whole sim went strange. So I teleported back into it, and only half of my house would load. So I logged out, and then went to log in, and this has been happening to me.

Can you do me a favor, and just give me the name of any random location I can put into the preference thing to start at. Maybe the ones I put are just bad luck. Thanks

Forgot to mention, make sure you do all the basic stuff:

1) Clear you cache. Open the software, but don't connect. Open you prefs, clear the cache, then close the software. Open it again and try logging on.

2) Manually remove all the config stuff... the place on your computer where your SL cache and chat logs are kept (keep those separate if you don't want to lose them). Start SL and it should start fresh. It will be annoying, giving you all the newbie hints all over again.

3) Remove the config stuff AND reinstall the software.

Isn't that a place rather than a region? I put it into start location, but it still does the same thing.

Nope, Lime is the name of a region. Sounds like you need to start reinstalling. :(

I reinstalled the game, and it still doesn't work. But can you be a little more precise about your second step when you told me the basics of what to do.

Not too clear on what the config stuff in the place where that stuff is.. really is.

Well, that was a good help.. But it still doesn't work. I even tried another region. Gah, this is driving me nuts.

SL steals my soul, then won't let me have SL!

They just saw that I gave all the good answers! :D

So on to the next step...

First, confirm that you have in fact TOTALLY uninstalled SL. You didn't say if you are on a Mac or Windows. On a Mac, it's just delete the SL app and delete the folder of config info. On Windows, I assume it's use "Add or Remove Software" to remove SL, then delete the config folder. Rinse and repeat. (Okay, that sounded silly, but I've heard people say it worked on the third or fourth reinstall. Couldn't tell you why!)

Still won't work, or want to skip to the next step? Time to try a different computer. If you have the same problem from another computer, it's a problem with your account. Your only option then is to contact support, which can only be done by submitting a ticket using the Support Portal.

Alright, what would happen if I uninstall Second Life. And then delete any form of SL off my computer. Anything that has anything to do with SL out of here. And then re-install the game again.

What would the outcome be? Would I still have my account? Would my inventory be there still?

No need to fear! :D

Your account and inventory are not stored locally, they are on the server.

You WILL lose all your customized settings, things that you set in the options window, but you just have to go back and set them to your preferences again.

Yay!!! :D

Helping people is fun, especially when it actually works. Plus I know if my SL died, I would just cry a flood of tears. Have fun playing inworld now! :)
