I'm trying to make a T-skirt. I uploaded TGA and have now a texture. How do I put it on?

Hiyas and welcome to SL.
You'll want to right click on your avatar, select Appearance.
When the Appearance interface opens up, select the clothing part the texture needs to be applied to (shirt, jacket, pants, skirt, etc.) as cloth from the left hand side buttons.
You will find that the right side will then offer you a number of calibration sliders as well as a pair of boxes.
The top box, when you click on it, will give you a fly out interface to help you "browse" to the texture in your inventory.
The bottom box will give you a color/tinting options fly out interface.
Make your selections, check the results a bit, play with the sliders and SAVE or SAVE AS, I'd suggest renaming the item meaningfully so you can figure out what it is or you'll end up with many many many New Shirt or New Pant, etc. which ='s inventory hell of the worst kind. Trust me!
One thing, when you upload textures for use as clothing, you might want to take advantage of that Preview step, check the drop down menu, it will apply the texture to the head, torso or lower body of a male or female avie, giving you a check point before you invest the 10L in the upload.
Yes 10L isn't much but if you go through 20 stages to get an entire outfit aligned and "right" it adds up. Especially if you make more than one outfit with more than one component.

how to wear

Heya...  Create a new shirt, locate and wear it. From the edit menu select appearance. Select the shirt tab. You will see sliders for different aspects of the new shirt along with 2 boxes to the left of the sliders. One box is for fabric... the other for tint/color. The fabric can be changed to any texture. In this case change it to the TGA you uploaded for your shirt. Happy t-shirt making! =) |
