Coincidentally, i was just thinking about this.. Anyways, i go over to Ginko today, and see that the floor is reflective! It's not a clever prim hack, even the lines that surround objects when you edit them are reflected on the floor. Avatars are not, however. Didn't even know this was possible till now.. anybody know how to do it? Pic related.

Are you sure it's not just a case of a duplicate, upside-down build placed below a semi-transparent floor? The selection highlights could easily be mirrored simply by linking the inverted prims to the upright ones. If you're seeing duplicate gold (parent) highlights, that would be a new one on me, but if they're all blue, then I'd bet it's just that each object linked with its counterpart, so when you select one, you select both.

No, the highlights are indeed gold. I was selecting the ATM in the pic below, but the highlights won't show up in the snapshot.
Kickass effect, though!

I see a lot of things in the reflection missing. - The radio on the table. - The picture above the couch. - The square panel beside the terminal thing. - The grey field below the screen on the left. I love playing these "One of these things is not like the other" games. ^^ PS: If you see an evil Spock with a goatee, get a piccie!

I suspect it's as Chosen says, just duplicate upside down prims+textures. I've done the same in my showroom, looks sweet, but very prim heavy. My favorite like this is Blaze. I think there was a discussion in either the old General or the Textures or Building Forums (one of them, LOL), where people listed thier own favorite reflective floors. Use CTRL-ALT to look under the floor to prove it, but then you will spoil the illusion for yourself forever

When you right click things you get a gold highlight, but when you select edit, you get the blue and yellower/gold highlights. Alt zooming below the floor reveals the trick, and if you want you might be able to sit on something below and be in the upside down space.

It could be possible that the objects in the normal room and the upside-down room below are linked to each other, so they would light up at the same time when edited. Check if the root prim with yellow outlines is shown in yellow on the upside-down space, too. I think it's safe to assume that it will not show up in yellow but in blue there.

It's all linked as one object, and it's exactly as described by Chosen, prims built under the floor. Here's a piccy of the root prim:
