The other day, after months of no trouble at all, my eyes suddenly turned grey. Nothing I did would fix it. No rebake, no putting on new eyes, nothing. I don't know what's obstructing my eyes because there's nothing to detach. I've even put on new shapes and skins as well to see if the skin or shape got corrupted somehow, but it happens with every shape and skin. Has anyone else ever seen something like this, and if you did, what did you do to fix it?

Is it possible that you are wearing something you don't know about? Go to inventory and type "worn" in the search box. If there's anything you don't recognize, take it off. It's weird that you can change skins, shapes, etc but just your eyes seem to be stuck like that.

From: Colette Meiji wear a different set for a day , usually the next day they are back to normal.
Used to happen to me a lot. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to finding out if that solution works yet

Didn't your mother warn you about that?

From: Brenda Connolly Didn't your mother warn you about that? Haha! Thanks for your comments. I went to a help section of SL, I think it was University of Second Learning, some people there looked at my eyes and we narrowed it down. I had no eyes at first, just blackness (good as a witch!), then when I tried to put eyes back on again, it worked for some reason, so random! When I looked at myself, I saw that I had grey eyes, barely saw pupils with no detail. Like I had a grey film over my eyes. But others saw me just fine. So it's nothing I'm wearing (though I will try the "worn" trick). It's just so weird that this would affect just me, and just my eyes. Thanks for your help!

A) Did they test you for cataracts?
B) Well the head up the ass bug is back, so soon none of our eye color will matter.
C) Perhaps it's time to try out that Milkshake avatar that's been sitting in your inventory since that trip to the freebie store.
D) They're not grey, they're resting!

From: Cin Coage i finally bought a different pair and they work fine but it was really creepy. Well, I just bought a new pair (though I have about a dozen of them, 10 that I bought a while ago), and put them on, and it worked! I'm happy again, though I still find it weird that the old eyes didn't work (just for me, not for others). Thanks for your help, and to the previous poster, my eyes aren't resting, their nailed to the perch!

Go into Appearance mode and jiggle the eye color settings a bit. Save your new settings. That usually fixes it for me.

Oh, crap, I just teleported home and my pretty, new eyes just turned grey again! I will try this, thank you, as long as Appearance lets me do it. (later) The minute I went into Appearance, the grey cleared up. I can't edit the eyes, though, and the minute I left Appearance, the grey returned. What a royal pain!

Sorry, that advice was for slider eyes. Sounds like you have a no-mod purchase.

Something that might help - if your eyes are a part of the head you have on, try the following:
Right click your head so it is selected/highlighted
Go to tools click down menu
Select 'Reset Scripts in Selection'
Exit out of the right click.
I have had the scripting in my eyes bug out so that my eyes were off. Resetting the script fixed it just fine and it required no re-buying of any avatars or eyes. Good luck.

I hadn't noticed the black holes that appeared for my eye sockets for the longest time, as I wear wrap round shades.. it was only apparent after TPing to a sim and all the attachment prims ended up in my groin, looking like a road accident involving a wig maker, bagpipe manufacturer and a construction, delivery trucks, had dumped their wares into the place where my 'bits' used to be... I checked the remaining items worn, and for some reason, I was now sporting 100% alpha prims by an unknown owner or creator, that had ghosted onto my avatar. Anyone remember the 'Ghosting Avatars'? Whereby someone would TP out of a sim, but their avatar is left floating about 12" above the ground in a cricifix type state, even though they were fully intact running about in another part of the grid? Well It's back!!! Took some screen shots lastnight.. lol.. may upload them at some point.

From: Tessalicious Flanagan The other day, after months of no trouble at all, my eyes suddenly turned grey. Nothing I did would fix it. It could have been worse: hair in the palms of your hands, or even nasty green goo in your spinal column! But not all is lost - just get rid of the SexGen bed and be a decent upstanding resident from now on, and you will be healed! PS: do not accept any pie from strangers! it will only make matters worse!

Oh, I love when my eyes go the whole gray/black thing. Drives me crazy.. and I'm the one that created them!
This is one of the times that I think I should release all clothing and eyes as mod/copy no transfer. I was doing transfer... But if I'm having problems, I'd hate to see what the customers are having!
Usually, I mod the eyes and save a new copy, then put the original back on. Oddly enough it works for me.

Hey all,
I had a funny 'eye' incident the other day.. I was just changing out of my 'tiny' av and after I'd become my old self again, I thought there was something funny about my appearance, but I just couldn't put my finger on it... I actually thought I looked tired and puffy around the eyes, like I'd been crying...lol Then I realised that I wasn't wearing any eyes.....AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGH.....I think I may be spending too much time in SL..

My eyes went gray the other day and I went "oooh! What a nice surprise! I look so DIFFERENT!" So I walked around with gray eyes all day, and alas, they were back to their normal brown/black the next day. Random color change eyes would be pretty cool to own.

Sorry for the necro. This post was referenced in another post and I wanted to point out, since it was apparently overlooked, that this is a cache corruption issue. Normally (normally as in every time I've seen it so far.. and my main product being eyes means I've seen it quite a bit) clearing cache and rebaking will sort it out.
