Can't buy Lindens

Hi,

I know there is a limit. I have tried to buy the exact amount I have left and under. It pops up and says there is a problem(either inworld or at SL.com). I am taken to a screen to update my CC info as somehow the card that was there (which has plenty of money) is now bad. So, I put in a new CC that is accepted. It still won't let me buy Lindens. From there I tried to credit my account in USD so I could buy from SL Exchange. No luck there either. What do you think: wait it out? Does the 30 day money limit start at the beginning of the month or is it based on my start date in SL? Thanks!

More like call your bank and get the payment unblocked. Ever since they moved to a British bank, most American banks are blocking the payments due to suspected fraud.

I read about that and forgot to mention if that could be an issue. I will contact my bank and see if there is an issue with the charging. Thanks for the reply!

The bank that handles my first cc saw the charge but wouldn't allow it. They said I would actually have to be in Britain and have my cc keyed in/swiped. The second cc I tried to use was verified by the bank and is not being blocked. They said the $1 test was still pending but charges should be able to go through. I tried to buy Lindens again tonight with no success so I guess I will either wait a little while longer or contact LL... *sigh*

I also could not buy Lindens tonight and I called my bank. They said the charge didn't even reach the card, so it looks like this specific issue is on Linden Lab's end. If I could figure out the support portal, I would try to submit an issue.

Both my girl and I are having this problem now. I really don't want to have to contact my bank over this, but I guess I have no choice. =\


Also, she's with an Australian bank... Does this still apply???

Actually, it has to be LL for me on this. I've been using LindeX for over a year now, and I am friends with most of the people who work at my credit union. They know I play SL cause I was specific about it when I first started. This is very frustrating!

I Have Been Having Trouble As Well.
I Tried To Buy Lindens Yesterday Again and it would say error.
So i tried my other drredit card.. Same thing

Deleted my billing info and re-entered it. it's pending, so as soon as it clears I am going to try again. I'll update if it works... If not... =\ We'll have to wait till the update, and hopefully that'll clear it up.

Beyond that, as suggested previously, call your bank.

Try deleting your current billing information and re-entering it. It may be as simple as that to fix it

My Paypal has been rejected by Linden labs billing system for many days now. They have been working on the issue. It is on LL side.

Today They tryed to give me Solution but it did not good. As of yet Paypal has still beeing rejected LL side.

This is big issue..


"1) Log in to your Paypal account.


2) On the account summary page underneath where it states your name and

email address it should say Status and "Verified". If it says

Unverified, please verify account before continuing. If it says

verified, continue to next step.

3) Click on 'Profile'.

4) Click on Billing agreements which is found at the bottom of the

list entitled 'Financial Information'.

5) Cancel all current Linden Research Billing Agreements. You can do

this by clicking on each agreement and selecting 'Cancel'. If you have

no Linden Research Billing Agreements listed, skip this step.

6) Next, go to the Second Life Update Payment Method Page located here:

https://secure-web4.secondlife.com/account/billing.php Scroll down to

the bottom and click on "Continue to Paypal"

7) Log back in to your Paypal account. Agree to the terms and conditions

of the Billing Agreement and click on "Continue". This will take you to

a page that should say "Your Billing Agreement Has Been Created".

To Verify that your billing agreement is configured properly, return

to your 'Profile' page of your Paypal Account, and then the Preapproved

Payments link. Next to the active billing agreement, (It will say

"Active" under status, and there should only be one active now.) Click

on "Edit Funding Source".

9) Select a Checking Account as your primary Funding Source and Save.

10) Return to your account page and buy Linden Dollars or upgrade your

membership or whatever you would like to do with your new billing

agreement!


If for any reason, this process fails you, definitely write us back so

we can help troubleshoot it further, but following these steps precisely

will cure most problems.

SO until it is fixed we're all screwed.....

Did you check your billing limit on the PayPal side? It's in the same area as described in the above instructions.

Buy your Lindens via SL Exchange as an alternative?

I tried to buy a Linden once. The mainland sim where I own land was lagging so bad I begged, pleaded, and even offerend to pay this Linden to work overtime to fix it. LOL

They eventually fixed it for free*, and I learned that you can't buy Lindens.

*"free" does not include the $22 quarterly payments or $75 monthly tier

Back to the credit card information... I really appreciate the help some of you have given, I recently had a similar problem myself. I have a Visa that Linden Labs won't accept but Slexchange will, and I thank all of you who took the time to write informative and helpful posts thanks to them i got my Visa working properly.

I can't even figure out how to use a credit card with SLExchange - I get a message saying I'm not set up to do it, but nothing telling me how to get set up.

Register, respond to the email, validate in-world at an SLX terminal, go back to your SLX account online and choose My Funds>USD Deposit. Enter an amount, click Start Deposit, then Continue Deposit to confirm. At this point it will take you to the PayPal site, but don't panic! There's a box at the bottom titled 'Don't Have a PayPal Account?' with a Continue button in it; click that and the next page will let you enter your credit card info. Check out and you should be redirected back to the SLX site. Not done yet! Now you have to put in a buy order to convert the USD to Lindens. Choose SL Currency Exchange from towards the top, then Buy SLL from the box on the left. Remember there's a fee, so you won't be able to get the full deposit amount back in Lindens, and enter the Linden amount you want in the box. Click 'Place Order' and hope that you calculated correctly; if not, adjust the amount and try again. Did it go through? Good! But you're still not done. Last step: go back in-world, locate an SLX terminal and withdraw your Lindens. Phew!

Despite generally better rates, I only use SLX when I absolutely have to...

I can't buy currency either today - pretty sure having seen this thread that it is a LL glitch. I know there are no problems with my card, and i am UK based. Just waiting and hope it gets fixed by tomorrrow
