Hi folks, fiancee ... 75 miles away and not seeing her till next week .. I upgraded her DRAM to 2Gb ... big improvement .. but not quite as much as I expected.
Well, her machine was only bought last year and my three year old P4 with 1Gb is faster ... soooo ...
I thought I'd see about upgrading the graphics. Now, I've looked up on Dells site and most I can glean is its PCI bus. Does anyone know for sure if it is please?
I got spare AGP 64Mb GeForce3 here and wonder if it will a) fit and b) work better than the present on-board GFX.
Hmm, found a motherboard schematic that only shows PCI .. not looking good .. anyone know for sure please?
A one-year old machine without even AGP???

I called in the help-troops  (a friend who always helps me with my computer. She a professional). She told me that some of the low budget computers of the wellknown brands (Dell, HP and so on) have indeed no AGP slots. So it could be your luck ends here  Morwen. |

BTW.... reading this again and taking it very literally, it is funny You upgraded your fiancee with DRam to 2Gb? And it was a big improvement, but not as much as you expected? Hmmmm.... wierdo... *walks grinning off* |
