I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else recently. Since the advent of ripple water I have not been able to see it on my graphics card. However, recently I experienced ripple water effects for about a day. I have the box checked but most of the time, although checked, remains greyed out. When I could see the ripple water, it was not greyed out.

It was absolutely beautiful. For all of a few hours. lol

My question is, if I was able to see ripple water on my current graphics card(which I do not remember the brand of other than it's an ATI Radeon 8000 something series, at this time..and it's late and I'm tired) why would SL take away the ability to see ripple water. It's almost as if they were testing something and then decided against. This was in the Injong sim Dec 22 if that matters. I was frankly very surprised to see the ripple effect as I had thought my card unable to render that effect.

I remember when prefs seemed to have so many other options available to users. Now it seems much more limiting, in order to keep it -easy- for the majority of users. Hmm..or maybe I'm not remembering the prefs well at all. I'm suddenly getting that 1984 feeling my memories are flawed.

If it works, find your graphics card in the "gpu_table.txt" file and bump it up a class or two.
