Violet You want to display text? If that is the case what i did, is used PSP and put text on a new image stating what i wanted to say, then made it a tga or jpg file and then textured it on my billboard.

The previous post is correct, but I will try to say it in simpler terms. Use any program on your PC to create drawing of what you want on your sign. Save it as a jpg (jpeg) or other SL compatible format. In your client, use File/Upload to upload the image file to SL. Build a box. Stretch it to the size of your sign. Drag your image from inventory and drop it on the face of the sign. Poof  |

Hint: Don't make your text image any larger than 256 x 256 pixels for a basic sign.... The larger the texture, the longer it takes to load.
