Mystery: lite neon blue blob on my land!

I just bought a piece of undeveloped land and came back to it a week or so ago to find the above-described 7' high blue blob floating at ground level and slowly jiggling, half on my property and half on the Governor's roadway next door. Neither right- nor left-click provides any info, it's not something weird in my Inventory, and I can walk into it (fog like) and out the other side without any affect on it or me.

I don't know whether to feel truly blessed or just embarrased by the appearance of the blob, but for the record, it does NOT - unlike a piece of burned toast on eBay a while back - look even vaguely like the Madonna from any angle. It is therefore not deserving of worship (moneymaker thought that might be) or respect.

I would just like it to go away and am at a loss as to how to accomplish that. Help/advice appreciated, second time tonight. - mDab

Neither right- nor left-click provides any info,

Go to Tools, and Unselect "Select only my Objects" and try right clicking again, or hover the mouse over it for a few seconds.

From your description of it (7' high blue blob floating at ground level and slowly jiggling, half on my property and half on the Governor's ), it sounds like it May be a Particle related object, If this is the case the Core may be extremely small, so left or right clicking on it won't produce any results as you are Clicking on Particles Not the core.
Open the Edit Window, then Left Click and hold above and to the left of the Article (Make sure "Select only My Objects" is NOT checked), Drag your cursor down and to the right so the Box you create covers the whole object. That SHOULD higlight the Core. Then you can Click on it, and remove it from your property IF indeed it's core is over your property. If not, you can call upon the Lindens to remove it as it will be on Governor Linden Land. At the very least you will be able to see who owns it, and perhaps ask them to take a Moment to clean it up.

Hope this helps.

Angel.

~OH!, you might also try Disabling scripts on your Land, this should halt the Particles, and expose the Core IF it is Visible. If you don't see it after the Particles stop, just do as i outlined above, and you will find it.~

And set auto-return on your land - I set mine to 1 minute. I don't allow anyone to create objects on my parcel either.

Of course it may be that you have indeed been blessed with a celestial vision. LOL

Stopping scripts does not stop already running particle systems from operating. It would prevent a script from re-starting an expired particle system, but a particle system without an "aging" parameter will keep on working, because particles are a prim property, not a scripted event.

More on the blue blob...

Interesting. Th MenuBar/Edit/bounding box idea revealed the tiny core, but I couldn't get anything from it (no owner, couldn't move it, etc.). Went to my land's About Land/Edit/Options pallete and clicked Run Other Scripts ON - which produced a wall 'o flame eminating from the blob and growing till I clicked Scripts OFF, at which point the blob and flames disappeared forever. Weird mojo. Thanks all for the help.

...Now, should I leave ANY Script options on for others, or not? I've assumed NOt. - mDab

If the object is on your land, simply return it using the "About Land" menu in the "Objects" tab. Alternatively, you can right click on the prim itself and choose to return or delete it.

After the prim is gone, you can change your land settings to whatever you like. Setting an autoreturn is a good plan though, to avoid this in the future.
