Prim Counting Tools

The Objects tab in the About Land dialog, has lots of useful info about prims in a sim or parcel. It can tell you how many are owned by the parcel owner, by a group, and by others. If you click on Refresh list you get a full breakdown of all avis who own prims on the parcel or sim.

When I bought my private island I had 15,000 prims allowance, and the Objects tab told me how many I had used. However, since parcelling the sim into 16 x 4096 plots, and deeding those plots to the tenants now on them, I find I now have to visit all 16 plots to count and tally the prim useage, to see if I am approaching the 15,000 limit or not.

Does anyone know if there is a script or tool, that works across an entire sim, regardless of the parcelling, giving the SAME info as in the Objects tab in About Land?

I instaled a rental system, that gives some prim useage, such as the prims owned by the owner and by the tenant, but I found this unsatisfactory, because often tenants move in as couples, and while one is the tenant, it is the other who is buying stuff, and the prims are in that person's name, not the name of the tenant. A further complication arises when renting Skyhomes, when the prims on the ground for community use are lumped together with the prims of the Skyhome above it. So again, a tool is most definitely needed here. Does one exist?

LL have just introduced quite a number of parcel/prim lsl script commands. I am sure that residents will produce tools to use those commands, or you could have a go at making your own tools with them.

The names here might give you some idea of what to look for.

SL Exchange has some prim counters.

If for some reason the link doesn't work, do a search for "magic bean" on slexchange.com

llGetParcelPrimOwners, or a tool based on it, might be part of your solution.

I just released a new tool that might do the sorts of things you are interested in.

"LandScanner v1.0 is an avatar-attached multi-purpose tool performing functions ranging from prim-counting and parcel analysis, to sim-wide land-ownership and terrain evaluation. It is highly configurable and able to provide information across multiple parcels in multiple Sims with minimal user intervention."

For more info, see: http://slged.blogspot.com/2007/03/landscanner-v10.html
