I'm at a crossroads at what to do.
I'm trying to decide if I should rent vending space or if I should just sell commission goods on my land.
My SL business, Studio 17, is fairly new and (I don't quite understand how it works but) my traffic averages between 4,000 - 5,000. I don't know if that's weekly, monthly, or whatever but it avgs that.
I was considering renting 20 spaces for L$100 - L$125 with 30 (at the moment) prims. (shameless promotions not intended just wanted to give an idea of what I'm working with) Then I saw places that offered vendors that paid you a commission on what's sold.
Since I'm new, I decided to ask a few veterans which would be the best route to go?
Any information would be helpful. Thanx in advance!

From: someone My SL business, Studio 17, is fairly new and (I don't quite understand how it works but) my traffic averages between 4,000 - 5,000. I don't know if that's weekly, monthly, or whatever but it avgs that. Traffic is an aggregate of the number of people that stopped by and how much time they spent there (it seesm to update around 8am on most days and reflects the previous day). Every avie that's on your parcel contributes one traffic "point" per minute, so if you had 1000 people stop by, they spent on average 4 minutes at your store before leaving. If the traffic is "real" (no incentives that encourage people with no money to idle), it's more valueable IMO, although that's very debatable . From: someone I was considering renting 20 spaces for L$100 - L$125 with 30 (at the moment) prims. (shameless promotions not intended just wanted to give an idea of what I'm working with) Then I saw places that offered vendors that paid you a commission on what's sold. With traditional rentals the seller runs the most risk (they might not get enough sales to cover the rent), with comission vendors you run the most risk (they might not sell anything and then you get nothing). Someone who knows that they're not likely to make enough to meet the rental is more likely to go with a commisision vendor than a rental to avoid loosing money. Someone who has a successful product on the other hand would prefer a rental because that means they get to keep more for themself. You could always split it halfway with 10 rentals and 10 commission vendors? Then wait a few weeks and see what each type is bringing in, and if you find that one is underperforming, shift the balance over until you get the income you were expecting to get.

Ok, now I wanted to know what's a good rate and prim number to offer?
I've been looking around and see there's no real benchmark or guideline to vendor rental pricing.
What's an acceptable amount of prims to offer? What's a good weekly price? What's a good size for vending stalls, areas, etc...?
Once again thx for all the help!
It's greatly appreciated.

I'm just getting into the habit of renting stalls, and I've seen stalls that offer 30 prims for 300 a week and some that offer 20 prims for 50 a week. Personally? 100-150L for 25 prims or so seems reasonable to me. 50L for the same amount of prims or higher? Where do I sign? Heh.
Currently I have one stall that was 50L a week for 21 prims (It went up to 60L a week at some point...can't remember when) another stall at 50L for 20 prims, a stall at 100 for 25 prims and one at 300 for 30. Truth be told, I really do feel I'm being ripped off for the 300L a week one, but as the area in generally very busy I'm toughing it out and hoping business picks up.

3L per prim per week is cheap and probably not profitable.
4-5L per week is what I charge at Animation Warehouse.
I would not do the commission route, it's messy. Charge them a fee per week and be done with it.

Well, my setup, so far, is I have two levels of rentals stalls. The first level may not be seen instantly from all angles, so I charge L$100 for 30 prims. The second level is higher and it can be seen from all angles, so I charge L$125 for 30 prims. I think I'll try this layout for a bit and see what happens. I thank everyone for their input.

Ah, I know what I forget to ask.
Does the size of the stall matter? What sizes are generally accepted?
