Perhaps if you explain the Specifics of the problem you are having Here in this Forum, the other players might be able to suggest a Fix.
It is, after all the Resident Answers Forum, and the Very place you should post such a question.
Good Luck.
Angel.

well, I posted THAT particular problem in the tech talk thread as it seemed the proper place, but eh, what the heck, I'll repost here too:

ok, since the last patch I am able to log in, but everything is unresponsive....no chat, no avatar, no land showing....it's like limbo with out any communication. I've tried updating my video driver, reinstalling the client, contacted LL support, turned off antivirus and firewall....all to no avail. All I see is a horizon, blips showing on my mini map, and the "stand up" button. It's as if I'm not recieving any information from the client, and I can't even chat or pull up any information on search.

anyone have any idea what the problem could be and maybe offer a possible solution?

Yeah Schlitz, I know exactly what's wrong.

IT'S BROKE! :D

What I'd do is this:
* Totally uninstall Second Life.
* Totally reinstall Second Life.
* If that doesn't fix it, try replacing your video card.
* If that doesn't fix it, try completely reinstalling your OS.
* If that doesn't fix it... well, there's always RL.

Hope to see you soon!

Heya Schlitzie - thanks for the heads up! :)

One thing you might try:

I know you've already attempted to uninstall/reinstall SL - but from previous experience, the uninstaller is notorius for not removing all files.

Perhaps try doing the uninstall, then manually removing the entire folder: c:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\Second Life

Then re-install, using a fresh download from the SL website.

Check your Network settings defaults - you might try dragging the bandwidth slider all the way in either direction to see if you notice any visible differences.

If you're on a Wireless connection - try going hard-wired temporarily, just as a test.

Hope this helps & hope to see you back in game soon! :)

Travis, thanks :)
Robin, that's in the works
Earl, I dunno whether to laugh at your pitiful attempt at a flame, or be offended that you'd think I'd ever use a friggin e machine!
