Hello, I just reformatted my hard drive yesterday and I had thought I had put a copy of the patch for SL viewer 1.19.4 on the flash drive ... I was wrong, now I see it is NO LONGER available on Hyang Zhao's website. I Need the patch in order to be able to keep playing, does anyone have it and can you send to me? Or have it on a site like MegaUpload or some other similar place, it would be AWESOME I'm running a MacMini with Mac OS X 10.3.9, and if I could AFFORD to, I would have upgraded already and not have post here Thank you in advance

Can anyone provide the exact name of the file?
Have you tried looking on file sharing systems like Shareaza? It's not completely impossible that there's a copy available through such means.
You might also try asking in the Mac users forum here, and in the MacIntosh Users inworld group (which shows two thousand members, so maybe someone there would know).
I don't see an inworld Cool Viewer group, which I find a bit odd.

@logan I assume you are the same who asked me on my blog . As I said, please ask Hyang if she still has a copy of her last build for PPC before she removed them. That should be 1.19.0.73 if I remember correctly. This is not based on 1.19.1.4 which is 2 years old (not updated, no security fixes; and you should not use this anymore in your own best interest) but on current and updated 1.19.0.5 sources. I will make a new 1.19 (netbook) version sometime soon, and this will have Linux and Mac builds too. However I'm just back from hospital and can't sit on the PC for longer periods of time. So this may take a bit longer . In the meantime old viewer versions you can find here, but as I said they are *NOT* recommended to use. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Old_versions

Gahhhhh, I still can't find the patch for it and I have been going to the torrent sites to look also, It'd be nice if I could recall the exact name of the patch for the search, I've tried various versions of naming it and nothing but references to blogs talking about the viewer itself which has been NO help whatsoever Hyang, if you see this, and you still have the patch, can you please put it on a site like MegaUpload.com and post a link here or send to me via my IM ? Again, its for SL viewer v1.19.1.4 that I need the patch for. Thanks for all the support everyone

If you mean the link for Second Life Answers, http://lmgtfy.com/?q=second+life+answers? What link can't you find? Also, if you are going to post the question in Second Life Answers, you might as well post at the SLUniverse forums and the Second Citizen forums. Did you try Boy Lane's suggestion? You have a PowerMac, is that correct?

Did you get both the old SL viewer and the patch?
I'm not sure how one does things on the Mac, but on Windows, to use a version that can still work but is older than LL wants to let connect, you have to use a "channel" argument on the command line, something along the lines of
--channel "Really Old Version"
if memory serves.
I would wager there's some comparable step involved for Macs.
Did you post in the Mac forum here in these forums and join the inworld Mac users group and ask there?
It seems likely that if the version Boy mentioned gets a need to update message then the even older version you are looking for would too.

@logan I guess everybody who could help you with the old version knows by now. No point in repeating it over and over again. CV was never distributed on any file sharing network, so it's unlikely you will find it there.
As I said, ask Hyang directly. I gave her the link to this thread here and eventually she has a PPC version for you. But again, that is highly unlikely 1.19.1.4.

Here are a couple things that may help (or not).
I have the universal binary version of Cool SL Viewer 1.19.05 R35. You'll need to copy the libllkdu.dylib file from a Linden viewer into it to make it work. I assume it'll run on your Mac, I don't have a PPC Mac running 10.3.9 to check, but it runs on my 10.5.8 G5. It is probably not the latest version or fully patched. If you want it I can put it on whatever file sharing site you like that doesn't make me jump through hoops to upload a file.
You can make the 1.19 viewer from the Old Versions page Boy linked to work. Right click (or CTRL-Click with a single button mouse) the Second Life application, and pick "Show Package Contents" from the menu. Open the folder "Contents" then open "Resources". Open the file "arguments.txt" and add the line
--channel "old"
Save it, and run SL. It should connect now. However, as Boy said, this won't have current security fixes.
I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be running either of those viewers. If I were you, I'd probably track down a copy of OS X 10.4 and run a newer one.

I'd like very much to ask her directly, I've been trying to find a direct contact link and so far just found the blogs ... too many blogs ... LOL I've even asked a friend through skype to ask her to IM me through my av's IM so I would get it in my email, as you can see, I have been trying every thing I could think of to get this patch, I had figured at some point another user might have put it on a torrent site or MegaUpload.
I'm doing all this while working my butt off looking for a job, I really need a new comp, but in this dead as heck rural town with nothing to do but clean house and watch DVD's, I NEED SL to take the edge off of my BAAAAADDDD case of Cabin Fever ... LOL
Again, I am using MacOSX 10.3.9 and can use 1.19.1.4 for the updated one as long as there is a patch for it, I recently reformatted my Hard Drive thinking I had the patch backed up on my FlashDrive ... I was wrong, it was NOT there *pouts*
