You can deed the land to your group in the About Land window. Just make sure that whoever is an officer or owner of the group is trustworthy. By default, they have the power to sell land on the group's behalf. So if they are disloyal, they could sell the land to themselves for $0 and run off with it. Good luck!

I've deeded land to the group, but so far group members, although able to build other objects, have not been able to put down the LL library plants.
Haven't messed around with it much yet, so perhaps I just have some settings wrong.

If auto-return is on, they'll need to have their group tag activated before placing objects.

ok.. one more question before I deed the title to my newly created group, will the land rental fee be deducted from my account as the group owner? as the only other member is my SL partner.. and she hasn't the funds in her account. ty again Husky.

When you deed the land in the About Land window, it gives you the option "Owner Makes Contribution With Deed" - check that and it will transfer your tier credits to the group. You'll be all set.

What's the advantage of deeding the land to group vs. just setting it to group?
I've SET all my land to group to allow both tenants and my alt the ability to build on the land and to avoid the auto-return. What would I gain by using the DEED setting instead, except more complicated ownership?

Another option is you can simply check the option to allow your partner to edit your objects, in Friends list (at the bottom). This works well for a lot of building things, but doesn't solve all issues. Neither does group ownership -- the problem isn't the land, but the objects. You'll want to do this even if you use group land.
Of course, I think you'd need to use group ownership if you plan to turn off building in general, on your property.
BTW with the "allow to edit my objects" option, your partner needs to go to Tools menu and make sure that "select only my objects" is NOT checked. (They can always turn this on as a trigger guard.)

You need to edit the powers in the group so that your partner can landscape with Linden plants. It's under roles and abilities.
But the stuff in the library section of your inventory will suffice, too, for the most part, as they appear to be Linden plants.
