private events and paid groups?

I had question about ideals or whether or not these groups really work or if there is demand for private events.
Is there much demand for renting space to others for private events, paid groups that provide things like free objects that owners made or combat or roleplaying equipment, tours, roleplaying(pg related) type activities?
Has anyone done this?
What type of success is there for such type activities?
I got the land, most liikely have the team but could definitely use more help btw.
I just don't have any more money to provide wages,etc.

I have been thinking of invitational only events as way to control traffic load on sim.
Not sure what the limit would be of vistors or even if any of my friends would attend private events yet I haven't spoken to them because land isn't ready.
Werid thing is most of my friends that I have notecards or on friendship list I haven't even talked to in months. LOL
I got these ideals but its hard to find ways to get support from them.
Not really sure about how to go about it.
At this point for example roleplaying is very geared towards one direction, while that is okay I have other ideals about how I want to go about it and land finally to do it.
I guess this post was more about how to fullfill your dream of what you want to create and people within that circle.
