Hippie Pay: Going down the tubes?

From a high of 1400L for a new avi three short weeks ago, Hippie Pay was only paying 6 offers for less than 500L yesterday. The pay-price on some of the oldest accounts has been cut 40% and nearly 3/4 of the offers don't pay at all.
After two years of being a good source of L's for newbies, who then spend that money on stuff and spread it around - has this venerable old standbye finally played out it's string?

Mostly a scam
Nothing is free.....
they pay you a few puny Lindens to fill out surveys and the like. for example - 80$l to fill out a 100 question market survey.
(if you really wanted, you could fill out the surveys Without using the hippy pay site and get real cash for yourself ( not too much though and not worth the effort )
what you do get, is added to email spam lists and it allows ALL there affiliates to call you without violation the do not call list ( you contacted them and there many many partners first! )
and the site owner makes a bundle off it.

Its a form of collecting leads for ad companies which is fine I suppose but no in SL. Also the bulk of offers are for american only so was often a waste of time for many I think . ONe has to ask oneself what does hippie pay get for collecting those names and how can they pay for it? The answer is simple they are working with a leadmarketing company and selling your names for about twice as much as they pay in SL in Lindens ^^ |

It's only been around since late last year - Novemberish, if I recall correctly. I lived in Scandium at that time and watched the bank go up. Robert and Roboto, the owners, both were born last year.. maybe you're thinking of something else? That is one of the most horrible things I've seen anyone put on the forums to date. It's absolutely despicable that you'd knowingly cause any innocent person to have their phone number added to one of these lists, where now they cannot use the "No Call List" to stop the telemarketing abuse. That just completely sickens me. |

Leads are supposed to be a legitimate source of leads if people start filling the forms out with stolen identies then they get shut down. so hippiepay strung a company along and made money off this for a year well less then a year i think. Anyhow as someone who has done marketting in the past and still does in present cause I have my own business it hate seeing this kind of stuff happening |
