How to kill the tutorial popups |

This is driving me nuts! After I uninstalled SL and installed an older version in hopes of curing my crashing problem, I now have the noob tutorial popups every time I try to do something. I've looked everywhere and can't figure out how to turn them off. Help, someone! LOL

Hi Aree - same thing happned the last two times I "updated" SL versions. It only happened the FIRST time I did anything though - is it happening all the time (e.g. does SL "helpfully" inform you every time you open your inventory that "this is your inventory where you, erm , keep things"
 or did it just do it the first time? |

Yep.. Which once you've seen before is remembered on your PC, not on one of the SL servers.

It keeps doing it! I've been told 50 times now that "this is your inventory." There has to be a way to turn it off LOL

Really? How rude!
I'd bet that the uninstall left something behind. Something that's making the version you have now a bit confused. There's an SL settings.xml file buried somewhere under C:\Documents and Settings.. I'd exit SL and rename that file to old_settings.xml (or whatever) and see if that helps. At work and guessing that that's the right file - maybe you (or somebody) can take a look thru it and see if it's the one that remembers which popups to show. _____________________
