How do I enable url links in the forum?

All,

Whenever I try to read various posts, they seem to be unreadable blobs of text with the url codes in plain text (rather than as a hyperlink). I've checked my user control panel for the usual "enable html" option but cannot find it. How can I enable url links in the various forums so I do not have to do allot of cutting and pasting to read linked
FAQ's etc??

TIA

May, 22 2007: BBCode formatting turned off

Hi! In preparation for an upgrade on our website, we've found it necessary to disable BBCode formatting on our forums. We apologize for the inconvenience; we don't yet have an ETA on the upgrade (and regrettably, can't detail more info about what the changes entail), but stay tuned. Thanks for your patience.

Okay it would help if that message stated that the url display is part of bbcode; this is not an obvious interplay.

Thanks anyhow

Pretty much anything in brackets is BBCode...although why quotes still work, I don't know.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

*Choke*spit*snort* That'll break my forum addiction for certain. Bletch! :D

Likely they found some exploit with the vB code and disabled it until someone is bored enough to upgrade the forum code. Probably fortunate they could just disable the feature, they might have decided to finally shut the forums down entirely instead.

You can copy and paste the URL to your browser. Everything between the brackets and off you go. :)

It has occurred to me that LL might be attempting to wean us off gradually .

Maybe next we'll only be able to use vowels.

Supposed to be an upgrade, isn't it?

Next we'll be inconsonant... or having vowel movements. Eww.
