I am having trouble logging in. Each attempt, I arrive at a screen similar to the one linked below. I've tried "last location" and "home" and have the same results, and I am unable to communicate with anyone in-game. Is anyone else experiencing this? How did you resolve it? Thanks! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/SwingGypsy/whatIsee.jpg

Try resetting your firewall.

Or try this: http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/03/17/rolling-restart-on-main-grid/Unless I've done something specific to change my hardware or installed some program that might upset my settings, I've never had a firewall, antivirus, antimalware or any other security system cause SL to crash. Clearing SL's cache and rebooting to free up RAM because Windows does not release memory is a common "solution" to problems, sometimes. But unless something specific is done to change a setting on a firewall or any security software is almost never the problem. Yet this seems to be the first suspect on SL crashing.........it's almost always a waste of time and not the solution. It's mostly SL having problems if you suddenly start having problems and nothing has been done on the computer that is crashing. Why people look to the individual's computer all the time is beyond me.

I used to have Norton and I had to reset the firewall after every single update. Although you may not have had the problem that doesn't mean no one else has it.

I think Peggy wins, heh. I did other things for an hour and when I came back I was able to log in fine. So apparently I was affected by the situation she linked. Thanks everyone.
