please can someone help. i downloaded the new update yesterday and now get on sl at all. a messagw comes up on screen saying sl is experiencing a problem and has had to close. it has an error report attached with the file included being 3ef0_appcompat.txt.
i have tried everything i can think of to solve this but nothing. i contacted lindens yesterday too but so far no reply

Well, i dont know much about the technical things.May you delete your installed sl at your pc and try to reinstall it. Another step to come inworld is to run the FirstLookViewer you can download at Webpage too.
Hope you will get lucky for it.

And an interesting point, uninstalling and reinstalling does not seem to remove the cache and rebuild it. I would recommend finding the cache folder and deleting it after an uninstall.

I tried installing the update and it wouldn't install so I kept with the old version.
Normally I don't bother with voluntary updates but this one was supposed to cure memory leak so I had a go.

Have you tried deleting your PC and rezzing a new one? Sometimes that helps get rid of these SL glitches.

 You'll find a link on the blog page to download the old viewer version 1.17.0. I'm still using it too, to avoid trouble.
