Survey from LL

Last night, on my way back into SL from one of my crashes, a 2 question survey popped up. Has your SL experience been getting better or worse? Why?

I couldn't believe it. With all the problems the grid has been having, why would they even have to ask? The most amusing/frustrating part was that after I filled in some helpful constructive criticism to answer the Why?, it gave me an error saying that the response was limited to 80 characters? I tried to edit my response down and still have something meaningful, but in the end I used the 80 characters to complain about the 80 character limit, and that was even hard to do without going over.

Has anyone else seen this recently? How would you tell them what was wrong in 80 characters or less?

By saying "See Forum post in Resident Answers titled "[YOUR NAME]'s Answer to LL Survey" and then make such a post with your comments.

You could alternatively tell them to e-mail you for a response.

If LL is serious about Customer Feedback, they'll follow up on it.

I've been hearing about this survey for a while - couple weeks or so - but haven't seen it..

Are you a concierge-level resident, Argos?

I had the stupid survey.. after crashing. Of course I chose WORSE and then proceeded with a very short list: Lag, login, support, billing, 80 characters, blog.

I think the correct response is "RESOLVED".

Not quite. I think I hit that level the next time I give in to the urge to buy land.

This is the funniest post I've seen all day. You have a very droll sense of humour.

I am not, so it's completely random. Does it only happen when we crash?

I'm nowhere near concierge level, and I hadn't crashed when I got my survey.

I haven't had any survey pop up... but today and yesterday are the first days in a long time that I didn't crash at all...

My problems are::

a) speed... I'm pretty sure a lot of you have better ping connecting from the states or whatnot... but connecting from Taiwan, I can get some pretty bad connections

b) crash... (read first line)... pretty much every time SL crashes, my whole system dies with it too

c) permissions?... today, I was denied access to a notecard that I created... saying I didn't have enough permissions for it..

d) lag... sometimes some of my inventory items, currently being worn, won't even load for 15 minutes

but overall.. crashing is my major complaint...

Heh! I got that survey too! About a week or 2 ago.

Typed up all the things I've found "wrong" only to get the 80 words/character message.

So I closed it & logged on anyways without filling it out.

I saw something pop up as I loaded SL some unknown number of days ago, with two check buttons to chose between, but I only noticed it as I was clicking the CONNECT button, I was already logging in before realizing what it was, and it never came up for me again.

So I think it is quite possible that some people who automatically click "CONNECT" and barely glance at the splash screen, may have missed their chance without ever realizing it.

If LL were serious about Customer Feedback they:

*Wouldn't make a "survey" of two questions ("Do you hate us??? Whyyyyyyyyy???";)

*Wouldn't limit response to 80 characters ("No, nevermind, don't tell us";)

*Would not distribute said survey in a manner so easy to miss (I subscribe to the blog and could care less how many bots are online, why am I waiting for the slash screen??)

* Would NOT have closed the majority of the forums ("we need to devote more resources anywhere else but towards what residents think";)

* Would NOT close comments on the more volatile blog posts ("shut-up you guys! Don't you know news blogs subscribe to this thing??)

It's easy to fit within 80 words - just repeat "make the grid stable before introducing new toys" 10 times lol.

80 characters, not 80 words. You're suggestion would fit 1.5 times though. Maybe "Everything's broken!" 4 times.

Now THAT's funny!!

Do you fill it out each time??

When they say "We surveyed 'x number' of residents", will you count as one or 3 (or 4 or 5)???

I've still never seen this survey. Randal must be getting mine.
