may be someone can help me. several qustions asked to SL where not answered, only linked to the knowledgebase, but there is no answer. I founded a group and before i could invite a second person my group was canceled by sl. my problem is, i deeded my land to this group before and now i have no acces to my lans. In the "about land" the owner is my group, but this grpup does not exist any more.
How can i get back or reach acces to my land?

Lindens can re-instate your group. Call Monday and you should be able to explain the land issue. You could send a e-mail today and follow up with a call Monday.

Try contactíng Live Help and explain your problem.

And next time first enroll at least two residents in your group before you deed any land to it. BTW, also alts may be group members.

Actually, the Lindend will probably end up "reposessing" your land and giving it back to you, if they do anything positive at all. Many people have posted in the forums about groups that were disbanded for lack of sufficent members, and in no case has anyone reported success in getting the Lindens to reinstate a "dead" group, even at the request of the group's founder.

First thing Monday, do evertyhing you can to call the support number and talk to a live person, or you may well lose the land entirely.

That's a big fat *NO* .... LL told me that they could not reinstate a group that was disbanded and that the name was forever gone, never able to be used again.

The same thing happened to me. I founded a group for a business opening later in the week. 48 hours later, *BAM* no group. I called LL and was told "You should have read the information on the web site ..."

Big help ...

How does one cancel a group if you WANT to? I have a group I created with a friend which we no longer need. As the last owner of the group, it won't let me leave the group, so now it's just taking up a group slot that I could use. Anybody know how to make a group go away? It doesn't own any land or anything.

If you are the only one in the group... just wait 48 hours and it will delete itself.

I have to wonder - what is taking so long to invite members? 48 hours should be sufficient to get 2 people to join.

I turn down group invites all the time because they can make you responsible for Group debits... I dont care to pay for someone land.

That's the funniest garbage I've heard in a while.

The game doesn't tell a new user "You should read the information on the website before playing", nor does the game tell you "You should read the information on the website before creating this Group"

What gives Linden the right to close a group that you're putting together? You've filled in the charter details, you've uploaded a logo, and Linden feels the need to close it because it's still empty of members? -- What a joke.

---

I'm still getting into SL, and I already dislike the Lindens -- thanks to the stories I continue to see pop up on the forums.

First of all, you should try meeting the Lindens before you form an option. For very one bad story you hear, how many good stories don't you hear?

Groups used to have to have 3 members, now it is just 2. They have this in place to prevent 1 person groups. Why have a group if you the only one in it?

As for not bring back dead groups, I was told this was so that someone would not be able to create a group that used to be and have people think it is the old group and things of that nature. I have had a group disband that held land and money, I e-mailed [email]support@secondlife.com[/email] and they took care of it.

No need to meet them when I can read about it here and on their blog. I've been reading these forums every day since I signed up -- and continue to see stories of frustration.

If there is a good story out there, it might as well be about how Linden plans to address all these bad stories. Problems with land, people losing land, people losing lindens, people losing objects, etc. problems with groups, etc. the list goes on and on. Then to see a quote from LL "You should have read the information on the web site ..." -- Yeah, that's Linden Lab service for you?

Yeah, but that's just stupid -- a waste of resources. First the engine has to create the group, then it has to check the status of that group for the next 72 hours, then deletes the group because it was empty, leaving a bunch of blank group records in their database.

Why not have a charter first, where you have members sign it -- once you have enough signatures, you can create the group.

From: someone
They have this in place to prevent 1 person groups.

You can't prevent 1 person groups if you expect a single person to start up that group initially. Then it takes time to contact your members to join.

Not sure, hence my charter sign-up suggestion.

Each group has an ownerID which is the ID # of the user that created/founded that group. Why can't the original owner come back and re-activate that group that he once created?

Very simple:
CODE

ON reactivateGroup(group) {
if (group.ownerID == userID) {
reactivate.group(group);
echo "Group reactivated!"
}
else {
echo "Sorry, but this group belongs to someone else."
}
}

Do you know the saying "No news is good news"?

People come here to air their problems .. a Complaints Department if you like.

No-one comes here to say things like "Hooray!, my alt can login to the website at last!" .. oops! :o
