In the groups dialog box, I see there is something that says "visible" members of group. I assume this means it is possible to make the list of members invisible? How do I do this? Thanks.

It means members in that role will not show in the group members list for people who are part of the group; there is no way to hide members from people who are in the group, and also no way to hide the name of owner(s) from anyone.

If you want to be literal your right but you can hide the real owner of the group by making an alt specifically for this owner of the group and keep yourself in another group with the same privileges but hidden activated.

Sorry, I don't think I phrased my question very well. What I want to do is make the membership list invisible to non-members. It's ok if I show up as the owner.

I think that's default behavior.

Hmmmm....

Now I'm totally confused. When I look at your profile, I see a group (among the others) called Bodega Property. When I double click on this group, it opens the group dialog box and I can see that you are one of the owners, and I can see a list of all the members of this group. Are you saying that you did something to enable my ability to see the list of members when you set up the group?

When you edit the group's roles, there's a checkbox that indicates whether members of that role appear in the public listing to non-members. Make sure you uncheck that box for the Everyone group, and then selectively disable it on roles you want to hide.

You can also make the entire group invisible to public searches, which is fine for invite-only private groups. I have at least one group like that.

Ha ha. Well, one mistake is allowable. :) I think I understand it now, though, so thanks to both of you for the help.
