My shirts don't fit!

Some shirts I buy aren't long enough, leaving a bit of my av's belly exposed. I try to modify and find the shirt is already at 100% length and pants are already at 100% waist height. I have tried making the av a little shorter but that doesn't help. (These are not shirts that are supposed to be short.)

This doesn't happen with everything, just some, but it happens consistently with them.

Anyone know how to fix this, or if it is possible?

I'd give you some advice, but I'd wait out the current DB issues.

What *could* be happening is, instead it's saving the length on one of the shorter shirts you last wore.

Also, if you are buying custom clothing, there's a possibility that when the texture was created, even though the shirt length is up to 100, there's some invisibility at the bottom created with the texture.

I have a pair of low rise jeans that's up to 100, but it barely covers the 'pertinent' areas. That's due to the designer creating that invisible texture spot on top instead of texturing all the way to the top.

(I know what I said was probably confusing, but it's kinda hard to explain in simple terms.)

Thanks Seola. For clarity, this has been happening since long before the upgrade. I don't think it's related to that.

Then I would almost 100% sure say it's what I explained. :)

Hmmm.
Over in one of the forums on clothing design, there's a thread about the 'history' of the Avitars, and their body shapes. As I recall the story, the basic Avitar was changed a couple of years ago. When that occured, male avitars ended up with a gap between their shirts and pants that doesn't always meet. Especially if you 'stretch' out your height and/or upper body shape. Its not such a problem with the female avi's but with the men, its driving the clothes designers crazy..or WAS. Now they just deal with it.
[my advice if you're concerned about skin showing: buy shirts on the 'jacket' layer. That goes below the waist line. Or shirts that use both the shirt and the skirt layer. ]

You sure that's going on still? My roommate's av wears T-Shirts he made himself and it works just fine. This was within the last 6 months though.

Maybe the template a designer uses? I'm pro Chip Midnights, maybe the others people are using haven't been updated?

I saw a commercial for an above-ground pool. It was thirty seconds long. You know why? Because that's the maximum amount of time you can depict yourself having fun in an above-ground pool - M.H.

You know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later. - M.H.

Assuming the problem is on the designer end, it really would depend less on what template the designer uses than on how they use the template.

For example, if I'm making a shirt that is not going to have any defined bottom (meant to appear tucked into pants, or extend the full length of the viewable area) then it's much, much easier just to extend the texture well below where the template ends, rather than go to the trouble of defining any bottom end at all. The templates are designed so that the arms appear below the chest and back parts of the shirt, so you have to take that into account... but I'd still bet that most designers, when creating a shirt meant to be tucked into pants, extend the texture a bit beyond the bottom of the templates, because it's easy and you can make sure you haven't left anything uncovered.

In other words... I'm more inclined to believe it's a problem with how your avatar displays the textures, rather than how those textures were created. Or conversely, it's because the jeans you own do not extend high enough, as someone suggested -- since it's much more likely that designers will create jeans with a defined top and perhaps some invisible area above that.

The problem with wearing a shirt on the jacket layer is that it covers the top of the jeans -- jackets aren't tucked into jeans. There are some nice shirts that use this layer to have an untucked look... but if you want shirts that tuck into your pants or jeans, that option won't fix your problem.
