Apologies in advance if this is a silly question but how do you determine where prims will attach to an AV? I've taken apart some full mod freebies - hats & wings & things and can't see any scripts. If I then de-link them and click to wear the component prims they default attach to the right hand - none of them seem to contain the instruction to wear on the head/nose/shoulder etc where the original linked object attached itself.
Or do I just need to take some classes in making prim shoes?

The proper place to wear prims is your butt. Why else would LL put the feature in the teleport to place all your prims up your hindquarters?

the first time you wear something you create use attach to menu then that will be the default attach point till it is changed by useing the attach to command again the right hand is the default for everything now i think rather than the head as it used to be hope that helps

If it doesn't automatically attach at the point you need it to, then detach, right-click it in inventory and instead of 'wear' choose 'attach to.' That will give you a drop-down list of all the possible attachment points and you can pick the one you want.
You might need to edit it once it's on to position it exactly where to should be. But that should at least get it into the right neighborhood.
The object will continue to use that attachment point from then on until you change it. That's how they're set, not by scripts.

From: Mickey James You might need to edit it once it's on to position it exactly where to should be. And it's easier to do this if you use a pose stand that holds your av still while you edit. Many hair and prim clothing stores offer these for free. If you can't find one, IM me and I'll help you out.

If I read right it would go something like; attach to head then edit xyz position until it's on your ear or nose or whatever. Then next time you attach it'll be lined up right.
Thanx all.

Thanx all. Almost. There are a ton of attachment points, and you should choose the one that is (a) closest to the place you want it, (b) moves like the place you want it, and (c) is not likely to be used by anything you'd wear at the same time. It's been a while, but I seem to remember there being separate attachment points for the nose and each ear, and I think eyes too. For (b), I mean don't attach a necklace to your head. It will be whipping around and in and out of your body every time you turn your head.

If it's something you wear on your ear, (earring?) attach to the ear itself.
You should probably avoid using the skull as an attachment point because that's where prim hair usually goes. I've bought several hats that I had to reassign from skull to chin so I could use them with prim hair.
It takes a little trial and error but it's not hard. You'll figure it out!

Think I got it now - but it's gonna need practice. As they say, "Practice makes adequate" (well in my case anyway).
Thanks again.
