Lately I've noticed that I can't see water from things like showers. I can see regular water (in lakes or pools). I don't know if i accidentally turned off some setting or what.

Oooh, and unrelatedly (if that's a word...) i've also noticed that when my land terrain detail is set to low (which is what i prefer), my land shows up grey...nowhere else, just my personal land. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kit

Me too, but those around me see them (water particles). Why? I have no idea.

could be several things:

1. in the menus, check VIEW / BEACONS / HIDE PARTICLES.
2. your graphics card may be so busy rendering stuff it doesn't get to the particles. OR, general SL lag may mean the particle display codes aren't getting to you in a timely manner.
3. in PREFS your 'particle count' (in Advanced Graphics tab) may be too low.
4. There are some debug settings, too, but the first 3 are the most likely.

It was the particle count in prefs, thanks so much!
