Quoted from another Thread; Buy or Rent

You have much more experience than I, naturally, of dealing with Lindens, since you do a great deal of business with them. Because its you telling me this, I will accept what you say. And I would automatically think the best of people normally. SL is a fantastic concept and i realise that the constraints on those that run it must be very difficult to deal with.

My point for this thread is, how do people like me who have very little contact with Linden personel get to have "a sense of what we are dealing with"?

I have conversed with two Linden staff in my 8 months in world. I am not a landowner, I dont have reason to 'deal' wth the Lindens on a day to day basis.

What i see is what appears on the Blog, and inworld. I have no reason to chat on the phone with them but really would like to get to know these people. I read everything i can, press reports, watch videos of interviews.. What i see pleases me, but its the public press face, not the people. What I see is that they cut off blog comments at 100, unless its set to no comments at all, rarely reply to questions on the blog, never appear online. Profiles say "dont IM me, i wont answer, press F1" and they leave bombshells on Friday nights for us to deal deal with and absorb over the weekend before coming back on Monday to a hail of discusssion threads here, to which they do not respond.

I know they are busy people, doing things we are asking them to do, fixing things, and i wouldnt wish to distract them from that. But two way communication is very very limited between Lindens and Residents. Office Hours... yes, I know... if you can get close and in the same timezone. I dont have a toll free number (I am in UK and the UK number is not toll free), but i would call if i was a landowner with issues.

I would very much like to get a sense of where they are, how they think, what they want. I dont see how..

I would like very much to get to understand more.
