Will sim ratings be removed?

Due to the mature checkbox in Search being unchecked by default, some content creators in Mature sims are moving to PG. Also it seems that private estates can arbitrarily change their own sim rating & have done so.

Kudos to those responsible creators that have taken the measures to repackage items accordingly. But, in my most recent shopping travels I have come across numerous false advertisements & even one large business with numerous XXX pictures & escort services in a PG sim.

I've operated my little Bodyart biz in a PG sim since '04 & have quit even taking nude shots with only the "bits" blurred out or covered up. I have a couple old ones still up, but I don't even take nude shots anymore.. if my clothes cover parts, so be it.

So yes, part of the reason I am so annoyed with seeing mature to even XXX in PG, is because by gosh, I've been called on the carpet myself, in years past. hehe

But I wonder as the world grows will this sim rating still be enforced & protected, for those that are truly offended by some of the mature content, or will it be done away with. I'm certainly not the prudish type, but there is much content in SL that even offends me greatly. I've often felt SL needed 3 ratings.. PG, Mature & XXX.

Is this concerning anyone else?

Any adult content in a PG sim is ARable, even if it's a private island.

And the distinction between "Mature" and "XXX" has been discussed a lot on the forums before, and I think it's a good idea, but in practice it'd be awfully difficult to work out how to enforce "Mature".

wonder how this is going to work when they make Estate owners autonomous

I did AR the one with the XXX content, on top of the very misleading search description & I've never filed an AR before.
