i am a regular on the slingo solo curciut and recently **** **** (looks like g0|d ru5h) casinos started a 1k game / 5k pot (90% return to pot) game. well today i played this game, dropped my 1k to play and got the high score, mid 20k's...
i was all expected for the score to get beat but when i returned this afternoon, seem he reset the machine and changed it to a 1L machine with a 1k pot. i asked a few of the people hangign around and it seems the owner ***** ***** (looks like z!g"y h|ck5) just walked up and reset the game within saying anything.
i've had problems with him in the past not paying out prizes but have chalked them up as a loss, but i was told while still there by another player that he has alot of non-paying games and that they get no responces from IMing him as well.
abuse reports have been filed, but i've been told that they are worthless, so what are we to do? just let this indiviual keep raping the grid?

You may run into trouble Naming Names on the Forums, But i would say you are doing the Only thing that Can be Done. Even when the Mafia was running Las Vegas, they knew in order to Keep the Gamblers coming they had to keep the games (Relatively) honest. If they didn't, word would spread, and the Money would stop coming. You may not recover the Money you are owed, but then, you Can make it Cost the Casino owner more than he would have lost paying you out in the first place. Angel.

I am sorry this has happened to you. As ResMod i can tell you that making it drama on the SL forums will require my services in an unfriendly manner. Of course if you were to post on some third party forum, say Second Citizen your reception would be less likely to have repercussion against you.
As a scripter, I refuse to script gambling equipment for exactly this reason.

Many years ago, my neighbour came out of his house in his bathrobe. "I've been robbed!" he said. "Robbed? Call the police!" I was concerned - this was right next door! He looked back at me with a puzzled look, then finally said: "The babysitter stole my stash." "Oh. Well. Carry on then, I suppose..." This whole story reminds me of that incident. Failing that, internet fraud is reported this way: http://www.cybercrime.gov/reporting.htm Might make for an interesting case though, esp. in regard to the gambling element.

This is a perfect example of why we need a trusted developers group. SafeSL.org isn't just about people writing bots. It's for every developer in SL.

Post your story at one of the third party forums that allows the naming of names. You'll be doing the community a service, plus it feels good. Also, if you tell the guy that you've posted about him in the forums, he'll likely come and defend himself. I'll start the popcorn. I like the Second Citizen Forums.

Do what you would do in RL... get some friends with signs and protest the casino.... So much easier in SL.

Internet gambling is illegal in the US. Plus SL has no gambling regulations. Basically when you gamble online you are playing a game KNOWING you are not going to win. Person vs Person is the only gambling in SL where you have a chance of winning.
I am strongly for getting out-of-SL enforcement in the grid to regulate this. There should be NO machine gambling.
