I can still move about but the second i stop in back in the floor!!??
Please help

I've never heard of this problem on the ground. There is a well-known bug where standing on prims high up will have a problem with feet sinking; the fix there is to sit on something and then stand back up. Perhaps that will help your issue?

I agree with Malik here. Both my avatars feet sink in the grass outside my house ... mebbe it's telling me it's time to get a lawn mower

I have noticed this happening, though generally only when there are drastic changes in the topology of the ground from area to area. I'm not sure if this applies though, since you mention it happens whether you are standing on ground or prim.
If you are wearing an AO, perhaps you should have a look at the stand that you're typically using? the animation may be set a bit lower than is normal, in which case i would simply swap out the stand for something else and not use that particular stand anymore.

A potential answer is: If you are standing on an actual 'prim gound' layer, has this been changed to Phantom? If you are standing on 'actual' ground, then thats a sim server issue, maybe it has been raised and not updated the server 'yet'... It can also happen if your avatar is particularily tall. My guess is the recent roll backs on the servers havent caught up with the actual formation sculpture of the topography.

This has happened to me a few times.. just sit on something, and jump back off you will be standing on top of the ground.. Not sure why it started doing that, and it doesn't really cause any problems other then just having that...."sinking feeling!" ok ok sorry.. I won't quit my day job Hugs to all on this wonderful Friday the 13th!!

It's happened to me a few times, but detaching and reattaching my shoe base always fixes it

This used to drive me around the bend. I have a parcel where I built a skybox, I’m not sure when but sometime ago I found my feet sunk into the ground often accompanied by a bent knee pose, strange thing was it didn’t always happen ! One day inspiration struck and I realised that if I tp’d to the ground first then up to the skybox it was always ok, conversely if I tp’d to the skybox from a different SIM I would most likely sink. Now I always TP to ground level first then up to the box and there is never a problem, I assume from this observation that by tp’ing to the ground first, the vertical offset of my AV is calculated and set correctly, whereas if I rez at any significant height there is usually an error causing my AV to act as if it had just landed. BTW, I’ve tried boxes at different heights and it still happens. Anybody have and thoughts ?

My feet will sink into the ground on the grass at my home also....I typically just tp home, even though I'm already there, but it does seem to fix it most the time. I have one particular pair of shoes that no matter where I am or how many times I tp home, they still sink my feet into the ground. It's a shame, they are very cute shoes.

:\ very old bug, seems to come and go with updates. one easy quick solution for 'feet thru the floor' or 'weak-knee syndrome' is to just sit down on something, anything for a few seconds - poseball, bench, rock, whatever - then stand back up after a few secs.

Ok Think i sorted it
07-13-2007 09:38
Thanks guys, big help.
Roland your idea of landing at ground level has sorted the problem on my own land but not on other sims!
The shoe base idea didn't work for my avatar.
Cheers

omg.. mine are sinking now too. i mean, up to the ankles. i'm seeing it on everyone suddenly. tall, short, doesn't matter. but only on unprimmed surfaces. must be a glitch if it's happening so much all of a sudden. but ssshhhh... wut we don't need is another update. ugh.
