How do you find who owns a particular sim when it's off access (blocked to non-group, for example)?

If you know the name of the sim did you try Search > Groups to see if there's a group listed for it? As a sim can have only one owner the founder of the (public) group (if any) probably also owns the sim.

1. Log in to the Second Life main page and pick Land Store from the -Resident Links- list.
2. Wait for the map to load and then navigate around to locate the sim you're looking for. You'll have to work in conjunction with the in-game world map to find it. 3. Click the island on the Land Store map. A little message will appear on the left of the browser window that says 'This Space is Not Available.' If you read the text below it will USUALLY tell you the name of the island and who owns it. Weird thing is sometimes it does not list owner, and I don't know how people are able to hide that. _____________________

You can also contact the concierge. Not sure if they told me who the person was because I was looking for permission or if its standard practice.

Is there some sort of whois directory for sims? ![]() Hi there, You can right click the land without actually being on it, find out the owner/group name and then if it is group owned, push the tab and the sim/group owners are listed in bold letters. From that you can contact the owners with your question. |

From that you can contact the owners with your question. Right, but if it's a lone island sim in the middle of void water and it's got an access list enabled, you can neither teleport to or near the island. I believe that's why the OP was asking for other means. _____________________
