Love the voice chat

Now I can't teleport, chat, or IM. Ya I just love this new voice thing I don't have and didn't update to.

Ya because the voice part of SL can ONLY be the problem.

Before crying about voice like the "in" crowd on the forums you should figure out what's going on.

I know what is going on. The Lindens have been so preoccupied with the voice chat that they are neglecting other problems. Personally; like a lot of other people, I want to see things fixed with an update not just new stuff; I wont use, added.
You will have to agree that over the past couple of weeks SL stability has went down hill at a screaming rate. But are they giving us an updated fixed SL? No they are giving us some voice chat that most people will probably not use.

I want to be able to teleport.
I want to be able to chat and IM.
I want to be able to be some place more then 10 minutes before I crash.
I want to buy something and be able to rez and keep it.

Is this what I am getting? No I'm getting freaking voice chat.

Something must be wrong with my viewer. I can teleport, buy stuff, rezz stuff, and use voice all that the same time with no bugs.

Works fine for me, too. I wonder why there aren't a ton of people chiming in on this one. It's not like most SL forum-tards don't spend most of their time complaining about everything and expecting it to be handed to them on a silver platter.

I do wish that, instead of giving me a message to download the new viewer to enhance performance (which the new viewer did not do), the message would have given me the real reason, download this new viewer so we can have chat (which I don't care about, would have delayed, and then would not have had to have spend time last night figuring out the new interface at well at a time of night at which I shouldn't be figuring out new things).

A lot of the attitude against voice probably has a lot to do with the attitude in which it is implemented. Voice: You must have to have it! Generally, I don't care one way or the other about voice, but it's little things like last night's supposed upgrade to enhance performance that ticks me off. Geez, Linden Labs, would it kill you to make an honest, direct statement once in a while?

Come on. LL has been walking on eggshells since February on this. Sure they could have done a better job on the Chatterbox design, but plenty of threads to piss and moan about that too. Can’t tp? Blame voice. Lose Inventory? Blame voice. Can’t remember if you pick the pink poseball or the blue? Blame voice!

er ya, that's why the hot topic in every chat; that I can actually chat in, has been all the trouble people are having. Guess they were all lieing.

What company put it in the SL viewer, and why is it being shoved down my throat when I don't want it?

"expecting it to be handed to them on a silver platter." I'm not. I'm more then willing to put in the leg work; always have been. I have done everything I can from my end short of buying a new computer. None of it has fixed any of my on going problesms.

as in, not being able to teleport, or if I manage to teleport I get this nice ocean view, and nothing rezzes. Or if I actually get past that I'm lucky I can stay where I have teleported to for more then 10 minute before I crash. And I have given up on buying anything with the expectation of rezzing or keeping it.
Now if I stay in my home sim, don't chat, teleport or buy anything, I don't have any problems. But then that is too much like RL.

I crashed once a night minimum prior to the upgrade... I didn't crash once last night, had my $L's, inventory, ability to search, chat and TP.

If not having problems puts me in the minority I'm very pleased to be the minority.

Dementia. The fault of voice, too!

Actually, I've just tried the voice viewer on my 3 year old laptop with 512 MB mem, and it's....working. TP and stuff too, even tho I'm in the garden with wireless...what have I done wrong?
Am not saying no one has problems, am saying that some have less than others....

For me SL fills the dead time. I'm in a very rural area in a very tiny town. SL is my way of getting out and about without driving 60miles. I do like it. But of late it just seems to be on going bugs, most of which have been going on for quite some time. But, as I have said, for the past couple of weeks it has gotten to the point I see no reason for me to login except to work on stuff; building in my home sim. Not a bad thing, I like it. But I also like going to my favorite spots to chat/dance, or exploring new places. neither of which I can just do, lately.
The thing is the Voice chat is the big thing now, the latest flavor, but all it appears to me as smoke and mirrors, " Yes look at my right hand , yes there it is voice chat, weeee, isn't that magnificent. Just don't look at my left hand with all the bugs climbing around on it".

Hmm maybe a few of you smart arses; , need to go to the other 196 threads where people are complaining about the problems and tell them it's something they are doing.
Perhaps you could give us your secrets, because the other 135000 of us would like not to have these problems too.




I was mad earlier, I'm in a good humor now; been off SL for a couple of hours.

Nah, just being lucky I guess. A soon as it starts raining, my connection dies....

Strange how older hardware and drivers [seem to] work more fluidly than newer versions.

I may get 3-15 FPS...but usually I'm still truckin' along while so many have been gimped.
