For some reason a strange problem has developed on my land over the last day or so.
Whenever I sit on a object in my house and then stand up. I start floating toward the ceiling and can't come back down. Also if I TP to the roof of my house, where my helipad is, I am sent hurtling into the heavens and beyond.
The only way I can return to the ground is by logging out of SL.
On any other land I appear to be ok and do not float away.
I have checked the objects on my land to make sure no one has a left something they shouldnt have, but all the objects are owned by me.
I have turned off scripts and restricted pushing to no avail.
I would appreciate any ideas you may have.

Are you wearing a device that allows you to fly above the standard limit? I have had experiences similar to what you described when wearing one of these devices. Take it off and all should be fine again.

Thanks for the reply.
I am not wearing any device, at least that I am aware of, that allows me to fly above the limit.
I have now just been back to my land and everything seems to be ok again. So will se what happens.

Are you near a sim border. I have that happen, but it usually happens when I cross sims. I normally snap back after a few seconds. There seems to be a few glitches in SL.

We had that problem on our sim, Wicked Isle, and a SIM Restart cleared the glitch.
I haven't seen the problem on the mainland.

I think rocketed it the right word to describe finding yourself going from 0 to 600 in a matter of seconds (I wasn't wearing any special equipment either).

It sounds like the OP's floating problem was a region issue, but I had a similar problem a while back. Took me several reboots and an hour of searching for a solution before I discovered I was wearing a necklace that was causing it. I'd been clearing out inventory trying on loads of stuff. You'd think the item name would have given me my first clue - Anti Grav Diamond.
