Coincidence or Retribution?

The day after I spammed the "Forums" about Linden Labs closing forums and selling off protected waterways, the three water sims bordering my land, have been put up for auction. Coincidence or Retribution?

I own a beautiful bay in the Chumong Sim, that I have personally protected and provided open access to all SL residents. I pay almost $300 a month in land tier fees to provide access for SL members to open public waterways. These are not new sims, where those that buy them know whether or not the waterways are private or public. These are waterways that have been protected and open by Govenor Linden since SL was created.

How would any of us feel if our city or state sold off our public waterways to the highest bidder? This is a travesty and confirms my previous experience that the Owners of Linden Labs don't give a shit about preserving any sense of community in SL. The bottom line is how many new members can they squeeze into the existing grid at the expense of those of us that truly care about the long term viabilty of SL.

Coincidence. This happens to everyone next to a newly available sim. Or think of it this way: if Retribution Linden exists, that fellow would be backlogged worse than all the rest of them. :)

Incidentally, the whole continent down there is a relatively new arrival to the grid. We 'started out' with just a handful of sims.

The grid as it exists has been fronted tens of millions of dollars, and will only be sustainable and kept up to date *if* these new users stay. It's a catch-22.

Quit with the victimization complex.

Those sims could have gone up for auction at any time, that's why they were empty.

But think of all the time it would take to smite all the peasants. You would never have time for the really fun stuff!

Now if there was more then one Linden....

And just a little advice to you Gias, you might want to know a little history before you go on your rants. Those sims that you are in are very new sims. I don't know the exact date, but I would guess they are less then 6 months old. SL had been around since early 2003 as a beta. Therefore, they have not been around since the start of SL. If you were talking about sims like Misso or Kapor I could understand a little bit more. But not down there. Were they ever listed as "protected" land? Those seem to be the best bet against being auctioned off.

As for "How would any of us feel if our city or state sold off our public waterways to the highest bidder?" It happens all the time. I can site many cases where land that was once a park, public land, or something else that people thought weren't going to be developed were sold to the top bidder. People get upset, and the best thing you can do is to talk with your wallet. Sell your land, get your money out and stop supporting LL. There really is nothing that can be done, the land is going to be sold.

Wow, uhm...
You seem to think that you are so important that LL would care about you so much as to auction off three sims out of spite. Must I remind you that there are 3,000,000 users total, and 30,000 often active at once?

I would be Thieving Linden, stealing your inventory then telling you I have no clue where it went when you say its missing!

"Call Tech Support, ask them."
