How can I vent anger at someone without being AR'd for griefing?

I logged on today to find that someone has bought 2 16m plots outside my front door and built the land up by 4m, it looks like a giant mole hill. As if all the for sale signs around me is not enough.

Vent your anger politely. It's infuriating.

Maybe just put a batch of trees and bushes up against it to help block it.

Let me guess... these 16sqm plots are up for sale for about L$20,000 each?

I only have 512m and do not want to pay extra tier. If i deed my land to a group then buy the land would i have to pay tier?

The group bonus is 10% so deeding your 512 will let you buy another 50m2 of land without having to tier up.

What did they put on the 16's? Is this an extortion attempt or did they raise the land out of ignorance/stupidity? If it's the latter, just ask nicely if they could lower the land back down. Or maybe you can raise your parcel up?

looking at it again I think it 's an extotion attempt. 1 plot is for sale at $4951 and the other $495, think he could have made a mistake with the $495 maybe he meant to price that as $4951 also.

some of the raised land also seems to overlap my land.

Cripes...just buy the parcels and be done with it. Paying $25 to avoid the aggravation might well be worth it. Definitely buy the cheap one before a bot or someone else does, and ad-farms it.

The raised land can't overlap yours, AFAIK. Other owners can't affect land that belongs to you. Do you have View Property Lines enabled? That will let you check more accurately.

Raising Your Land: Tools/Land/Raise Land. Point at the part of your land you want to raise and hold down your mouse button. Up you go!

I have been there and share you sorrow. Unfortunately it is not easy to find a 512 in a nice area, although it is possible but you will have to keep searching and usually pay more money.

We won't win this fight, it's in the Lindens' hands.

This I what I would do if I were you:

1 - Build a skybox, you can go as high as 768 meters I think, but leave some headroom/meters because you won't be able to move you prims above that level, 750 Max is "ok".
Now, if it's cluttered around you, try to move down and look for a suitable spot.

2 - Sell it back, don't worry, there are 10000 of 512s out there, it's not like your stuck, and even if you have to loose some money to sell faster, is it worth the stress?

At last, don't try to reason with these people, they are not worth your time, some might even want to get something out of you, i.e you sell cheap - they buy, or you stay, they get on your nerve and you buy theirs! When the vibe is bad, the vibe is bad... not much you can do about it. It's good to ask advice here on the forum, and I stepped in because I know you are going through, I have been there and even though you only have a 512, there will be plenty more out there buying 512s... so, many more people will also go through this soon or later. Some won't, there are exceptions, "luck" maybe. On the other hand, 512s in nice areas are usually rare and more expensive, if you find a good spot, go for it, it could be worth your money. Otherwise, the sky is the limit on this occasion It has helped me a lot. One day I will try to post a video on youtube.com, once I work out how to compress + upload it, the biggest sky-pod I ever built, 8000 sqm, self contained with everything you could ever need in SL or RL for that matter. It never felt like I was in a pod, the top was open, and I boxed myself in mega prims with transparency on the inside, noone could see me, yet I was very happy and the view was beautiful and there was a security system. all around was being divided int 16m plots so decieded to sell. only lost $200 on it so its not too bad considering the way prices are going.

This is a horrible thing to happen. If you can still get to your front door, why not make a tall hedge to go along your boundary - use a half cylinder on its side, curved side up - stretch it up to 4m and whatever length you need, texture it with a grass texture and colour it a darker green and it looks like a nicely clipped yew hedge. You can duplicate it and adjust length if you need more than 10m.

This might make the 16m plots less saleable too. Unless they are cheap, I wouldn't buy them - that's what the owner wants - bluff them out on this one!
