What i'd really like to know is how it got there.

Object creation is off apart from group members
Object entry is off apart from group members

The bike does not belong to a member of the group.

So how did it get there?

Someone was riding it and got bumped off over your land I think. Do you have Autoreturn turned on for your land? I think it is under the Objects tab in About Land. I usually set mine to 1 and when vehicles get stranded they get returned to their owners.

The thing about vehicles is that they are considered to be part of the avatar until the avatar is bumped of or dismounts. At that point they are prim debris where ever they end up.

Autoreturn has worked for me and its nice for the vehicle owners too. Hope this works.

It isn't doing any harm, and I've left it there out of curiousity of how it got there - it is almost in the centre of the land, and as I've said no foreign objects should be able to get there if i understand the land settings right...

Interesting one for the age-verificationists though - how can I be "legally and morally" responsible for what is on my land, when even if I use the SL tools for locking down the land, things can still appear there completely outside my control?

Ah, I'd better nip into SL and return it then...

You guys r always talking about auto return but you never mention that if it is a group owned sim and u put autoreturn on, it will send everything back into your inventory. I made that mistake once reading the forums and it sounded like a good idea.. Big! Big! Mistake!
Others can push things onto your property as well. In about land you will find objects tab, just go in there and find the prim and return it to its rightful owners lost and found.

PS always be careful when playing with the autoreturn option

Autoreturn works just fine on group-owned land. Just make sure you have the right group active when you rez your stuff. Or right after you rez your stuff, edit it and set it to the correct group.
