Last night I took my house, which was linked with most of its contents. However upon taking it, I discovered it wasnt actually in my inventory.
So now Ive lost not only the house but a lot of the content which has cost me considerable lindens. Anyone had this problem and found a way around it? Ive followed all the "help" on the site and in game but none of it has actually helped.
Had no response from help or support yesterday and of course wont get any now its the weekend.

Nothing is lost. The house and objects are in your inventory named as something else. It will either be at the top of your objects list if you sort by date or at the top of your lost in found, or in the folder your house came in.
It will be named after one of the linked objects that you selected and they are all inventory appearing as one object. Not sure if it's the first or the last object linked.

or look in "recent Items" tab.
i have also seen multiple items combined into 1 object, usually on autoreturn.

Yup I spent over an hour looking for them, sadly, they really are gone, and werent in either recent items or lost ones even a few mins after it initially vanished.

Items linked to something else return to the original folder of that item and will not show up in recent items. If you have emptied your cache and relogged, it's just a matter of going through your folders.
For example, if the last thing linked was a plant, everything went back to the parent folder of that plant.
Keep searching and let us know if and when you find the right object.

Not as far as I know (that would be a great feature), but if there were ANY objects that were no modify/copy/transfer, the object will be labled as being all of those in your inventory. So if it was an object that used to be copy it will appear in inventory as no copy and this might give you a clue.
That was how I would find things returned to me along with my copy/mod/transfer for sale signs when I was dealing land.
BTW, I have done this too and never found certain linked items. I wish they would go back as a folder and not an object with a list when linked.
