How do you find a sim owner?

Hi,

A large rental sim was recently sold, and the seller left SL. No-one knows the name of the new owner, and all our possessions are on the private island that was sold, but when a sim is sold Public Access is set to the default of OFF, so none of the tenants can get there to retrieve their stuff. As it is a true island we cannot go to a neighbouring sim to camera across either.

Is there any way of finding out who now owns the sim? We would like to IM the new owner to ask him to open the sim so we can retrieve our possessions, if he does not intend to continue the rental business.

Ack, this is a quandry! I'm afraid I can't think of a solution but bumped to keep this on the front page.

My only thought is that I can't imagine anyone paying for an island and not using it, so I'm sure the items will be returned at some point.

you might try ALL SEARCH in world and type in the region name and click search. There you should see the region listed like
Region: SIMNAME
After you click that link you will see another page with a link under Places in This Region:
Then click on the link and should show owner or if it is group owned it will show the group.
Might be troublesome if it is blocked from search as well. But give it a shot

you could get in touch with the Lindens too, to make sure it actually does have a new owner, if it doesn't you would have to request that the lindens open it for you so you can get your stuff back.
