Hi All,
Been in the game a couple of weeks now and decided I would like a 1024m2 piece of land to start out with.I have been roaming about various sales and auction sites looking for a good location.My question is about the info about prims available on that land.Does a "Sim prim" use of 644 and prim "Parcel support" of 234 mean that I can build my building up to 644 and then furnish it with the 234 or something like that ?.Obviously I would need to understand this before buying and learning the hard way.Your info on this will be greatly apprieciated !
Thanks,
Edward.

You can only furnish the land with 234 prims, the 644 prims is the total prims the current owner has at his disposal.

So the "parcel support" is my total amount of prims I can use.Ok, thanks!

Kind of. What I think you are seeing is someone with two lots in the same sim. So the lot you are standing on supports 234 prims, but they have other lots allowing them to use 644 total, anywhere or nowhere on any of the parcels in the sim. In other words, if you have 2 lots in a sim, you can put all the prims on one of them and use the other lot as a 'prim farm.'

I had somebody who got caught out by this - I owned most of the sim and he bought 1024sqm from me expecting to get something like 10,000 prims, and then accused me of false advertising.
I would have bought the land back from his for the same price if he hadn't started off by issuing threats against me. I don't respond well to those.

So it more or less boils down to knowing the amount of prims needed from what building ur planning to build,and allow +/- 50 prims for furnishing.Looks like I need to rethink my plans.Bye bye condo and hello cardboard box and sleeping bag .Thanks guys.

234 won't go far if you want a nice furnished home...BUT...if the surrounding properties are easy on the eyes, you can have a nice garden area with patio and indoor/out seating. Great for entertaining. Sunsets are sooo beautiful in SL. If the nearby lots are bad, you can always put up tree screens or scene screens. 234 will go a long way with this approach. Ethan

Unless you're renting island space, the number of prims at your disposal is fixed.
Every 512sm of land gets 117 prims, so just keep multiplying that by the amount of land you buy in 512 increments.
512sm = 117 prims 1024sm = 234 prims 2048sm = 468 prims 4096sm = 936 prims
It gets heady above that, at least it does for me. I bought 8,192sm and still haven't used all my prim allotment (1,872 prims). Although I'm giving it a good try!
