How can we file an Abuse report on someone? A newb, joined Aug 7, 2007, decided to put a few particle scripts spewing pictures all over the sim. This causes a lot of lag as well the crap goes through walls.

In the help I tried to fill out an Abuse report but in the name field I can only take the name of a person I have a calling card for. How is anyone supposed to report abuse on someone who is not their friend? It doesn't make much sense.

I tried to leave the name field blank but it wasn't accepted. There also doesn't seem to be anymore live help so I can't do anything with that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you know the name, when you 'select' abuser name, you can just type the name in the box at the top and "search", then select them - you aren't just restricted to those in your calling cards list.

Why it doesn't automatically put in the name from the object you are reporting I don't know... but that's LL for you.

what you need to do is find the object he left right click it until you rech FILE ABUSE on the object. that will show he is the owner of the object and can be reported.

That is what I tried. On the top of the box there is the name search and at the bottom the list of my calling cards. When I type the person's name in it says "not found" and takes the first one on my list. Not sure if this is just a bug at the time or what.

Maybe give it a try and see if the same happens for you.

If no name is found, perhaps the greifer has already been banned from SL?

I had a similiar problem a few days ago. The search window simply wouldn't work and it only looked through my friends list. I think I just tried repeatedly and eventually it did work though. Thankfully, not a fast moving situation lol.

It used to do it, but with the last five updates, well... I think LL doesn't want us to file Abuse Reports anymore, but they also don't want to give us the tools to deal with the issue ourselves.

I'd ask why they bothered changing 'report' to a more useless 'inspect,' but I think I'd be answering my own question
