Why would you have mature/adult land and not get verified? It would defaet the purpose of the whole verification process.

I do not know what LL will do, but my guess is no, you may not be able to access those regions without being verified.

To the best of my understanding, you only have to get verified if you want to access areas that are flagged "Adult".

So, I would say no, as long as you don't flag it adult, you'll be ok.

You should be able to own land in a mature sim that is not flagged as adult. What would the point of flagging or not flagging each parcel be then? I am wondering if the adult parcels are going to blackened out though. Many have pointed out that unless they are invisible, blackened out, or unclickable, people will still have access to these adult parcels from neighboring parcels using camera controls.

So now I have three differnt answers and this is what is so confusing. First: I owned a mature piece of land LONG BEFORE age verification came into play. SECOND: I categorically REFUSE to get age verified. No one has right to demand the type of info. taht Linden is asking for except a government. This is going t ruin the freedoms we have experienced here.
So how do I change my category for my house?

from what i gather theres gonna be a new checkbox on the about land window, if you click it on your land becomes marked adult, if you dont chekmark that box you wont need to be verified to access it

pg vs mature will be about the same, in pg you cant be cussing ect but in mature you can

that means in public everything will be basicly pg

but if its your own land and its mature you can still have screaming terrets dildo bumpercar battles, as long as its not for the point of gathering random ppl for an event, shop whatever

i had to read tru it a cupple times myself becuase i also am located on a mature sim

and it sounds like a sloppy PITA that gonna cause alot of confusion, but again im not gonna have publicly announced porno apperciation parties either

... except a government.

Ummm...I'd rather give Linden Labs my info than any government on the planet.

Mature doesn't equal Adult unless it's been flagged adult. So again, as long as you leave your existing mature land unflagged for adult content, you can go on about your second life as you have been.

You will not however, be able to access other people's parcels which are flagged adult.

I myself do not plan on supplying this verification service with any info.

Lastly, be prepared to be ridiculed, called a fearmonger, and told you're overreacting, which seems to be all the rage around here any time someone gets riled at LL.

Thing is, your own government has that kind of information most likely already (as they are the ones that require you to have it?).... LL (or the third party they use) not, as far it concerns me, it stays that way.

And even when they don't store it, which I doubt (even it is said they don't), that information will be send over the internet in many cases from not secure computers, so it is there to grab for anyone. Indentity theft is a hot things these days.

Talking about other governments as my own.... I am not international wanted, nor I am not a wannabe terrorist (whatever that may mean), so no other government then my own should even be willing to have information on me....

If you're on the mainland and don't flag Adult, you should be fine if LL sticks to what's in the blog post.

If you're on a private sim the sim owner will have the last say, (s)he could mark the entire sim as adult, which would block you from your own land.

If you have parcel ownership in the sim, the region setting won't matter - you can still un-check the Mature flag on the parcel. It operates the same as mainland regions. The region setting doesn't override the parcel setting.
