Hi I was in my own sim last night talking to my resident and friend.. then all of them sudden someone appears behind me and then everyone got blow away all over the place; either to the corner of the SIM or 80000 feet in the sky. I immediately look into the estate tool to see what kind of colliders or scripts are running on the sim and have not found anything which is suspicious. My question is, is there anyway to better track what script and collider are running on the sim and who run it? or it would be easier to track who is TP to and out of my sim?
Thanks
Jack

You can try the bumps, pushes, etc feature under the Help tab. It will tell you the name of the last person to push you, bump you, use a scripted object on you or whatever. Then, you can add that name to the ban list. Just make sure it wasn't an innocent bystander being flung into you because of a griefer, lol.

Thanks Jack If you put a telehub in your sim you can put a datestamped visitor detector there; that would sure settle it. Or say, an array of networked visitor detectors would tell you all traffic; or one that zipped around. I think Mystitool has a component that can scan an entire sim up to insane altitudes in something like 11 seconds (I'd have to ask Mysti). But here's something more to the point: just ignore it. Yeap, I'm serious. So they shot off some fireworks and orbited you... okay... whatcha gonna do? The individual fully expects to be caught and banned; it was a one time stunt. Like an incorrigible tot emptying its bowels at your picnic, well, you can't *really* prevent it from never happening again, unless you never have another picnic with friends or any kids at all. So the question is - are you going to lose multiple hours of your life worrying about it, defending against it, setting up for the next time? You'll create a contest of wills, and invite a lot more of it. Simply ignore it, and it will kinda go away. Just don't let it push your buttons - that's the most powerful anti-griefing tool of all.

I don't let it upset me at all. I just quietly find out who it is, warn them, give them a copy of the rules, and if they get snotty or otherwise annoying, I add them to the estate ban list. So far, it's worked wonderfully well.

When I find griefers I freeze them on the property and then have fun berating them while they can't move.

Jack,
I agree with Desmond. Just ignore it.
Your choices: You can worry about it or ignore it. If you worry about it, you can take action to stop some weapons, but you can never stop all of them. You can then worry about the weapons that you can't stop or ignore it. If you worry about them, you can take action such as no rez & no object entry, but the price is no fun for your welcome guests unless standing around and talking and using only your own objects is fun for them. In short, you can turn your sim into a bunker........ or you can ignore the griefer & their act, and they will just go away and find someone else who will over-react (what they want).
80K in the air is a pretty weak push and sounds like a freebie P.O.S. weapon. Just turn off push to stop that kind of foolishness from the freebie weapons. If you're really upset about it, you could also turn off scripts but all that both of these do is give someone a false sense of security. No script is easily bypassed and i've stopped counting the number of weapons i see for sale that advertise "no-push defeat". The no push will work against the freebie stuff, and since most griefers use that, you've just protected yourself against most attacks. The rest.... well those are rare enough to ignore.

Well.. I agree with u Desmond..I probably will ignore it if it is from some random griefer but in this case I suspected it was one of my resident's friend's bf.. which I would like to be sure before banning him from the sim. And I checked the push, hit, list and it seems none show up. Does anyone know if those information is lost after a logged out?

From: Jack Sakigake Well.. I agree with u Desmond..I probably will ignore it if it is from some random griefer but in this case I suspected it was one of my resident's friend's bf.. which I would like to be sure before banning him from the sim. Well, you could always ask him if he did it, I suppose! Here's a simple way: offer your paying residents the option of asking for a sim ban. Clean, simple, keeps you out of it. Person A is paying to be in the sim and wants person B banned. Then it's done, no drama. Unless you want to be the drama detective for all your residents and their friends in your sims, then be Judge Judy for everyone and try to dispense justice with the shakiest of evidence and the most elusive of facts. Eventually, with emotions on high and everyone upset, it will likely work around to becoming 'your fault', usually over some nitpick policy thing that no reasonable person would have worried about in the first place. I'd strongly suggest banning if the paying resident needs it, not banning if they don't, and otherwise not letting it ruin your day. Banning will be pointless however. Vindictive lovers usually have an army of alts. Of course if someone crosses *you*, then deal with it as you see fit. But it sounds like just a bunch of childish nonsense to me, and were it me I'd simply ignore it all. Ah, just have a pretty good wait list going for your sims, and make sure everyone knows it. grin

I think the problem is really with your friend and the person you were talking to. It sounds like they didn't have your back while you were talking to them because this griefer was able to come up behind you.
