I was wondering if anyone knows the shape used for the blue haired avatar used in the pictures on the Second Life home page... I love her facial structure... And would love to buy that shape.

So if anyone knows for sure, or even recognises the face. And can point me to a shape artist or vendor I will be ever thankful.

Thanks,
Bambi

It does indeed look like a great shape and skin but bear in mind that the LL photoshop wizards have probably applied some cosmetic touch-ups prior to posting on the main page of their website.

Of course, it's entirely luck whether you get the blue-haired avatar when you load the page ... I got a samurai sword-weilding goth!!! LOL

As far as I know (and this is only as far as I know).. the images there are basically snapshots of well built areas that have been rendered at high resolution and then anti-aliased.

As I understood it, a little while ago there was a policy quietly put in place that the avatars appearing on the front page would be Lindens or Linden alts - the reason being that before that came in, they'd ask regular residents to pose, but every time they updated them there would be an explosion of complaints on the forum from the people who didn't get picked (there wasn't any application process or anything like that, it was just a "right place at the right time" thing, but some people felt being seen on the front page was too major a publicity advantage to be given out that way), and a certain dreaded three-letter acronym would start being thrown about..

To actually answer the original question, most shapes aren't on sale. Usually the best bet is to find a good skin and then make a shape that goes well with it. I don't recognise the skin in that picture for certain though - does anyone know what it is?
