I think the asset server is hosed. Every time I attempt to save a script I get three consecutive error dialogs telling me that the asset request failed and that the asset server is having problems.
Apparently today is not a good day to do anything productive :/
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is the asset server just hating me in particular today?

Nope, not just you. When attempting to upload pictures, either directly or from my system, I got this error: "Unable to upload texture due to the following reason: the server is experiencing unexpected difficulties. Please try again later." Having never seen this error before, one can only wonder what's up with the server. Update: I was just able to finally upload. Give it a go now, guys.

Heh. I tried to report it, got dead stony silence in response.
Well, I did my part by trying to report it seeing as how LL does not appear to know that it is a problem. Screw SL, I am going out in the sunshine.

Unfortunate Other Update: I made two purchases during this fiasco, not thinking it might affect my buying power. Heh. Wrong-o. Money was debited, but items went poof. Thankfully they weren't big ticket items, so I replaced them myself, but I notified the seller nonetheless. If any of you bought anything in the past hour, I'd recommend checking to make sure you've *actually* got it.

Not knowing there was a problem, I picked up my entire house and all its contents to sell my land. It never showed up in my inventory so I just lost, well, too much. I'd report it but I'm rather sure the response would be something along the lines of sorry, but nothing we can do =(

Yeah, I tried giving a customer a refund and even that was borked, with the transaction going stale within seconds.
I can't understand why LL does not have a way for us to bring such issues to their attention. Obviously they haven't got a clue, and those of us experiencing these problems should be able to act as the early warning system LL so desperately needs to get on the issues before they get much worse.

There's going to be even less way when they take away the bug reporting ingame, as they have said they are going to do, and expect people to register for and use the cumbersome and obscure Jira instead.

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!! Is this some sort of retribution for attempting to report a problem?!?!?!?! The item that I was working on when I first noticed this problem.... The one in which I was trying to save a script..... IS GONE!!! Absolutely unbelievable. Poof. Doesnt exist now. And the only existing backup has become no-mod on me. WTF

We all know that the way to enable something like bug reporting is to make it easier, not more cumbersome, for the people WHO ACTUALLY FIND THE BUGS.

Yanno, I play this game on a tight budget and up until today I havent had any issues, but then they all piled up and I'm extremely frustrated. I have NONE of my furniture or the no copy house that I had placed out. I have (in my opinion) useless land that I have to try and sell for less than I purchased it for because of *censored because its pointless*. Best of all, I have no way to really get myself heard so that the problems get solved because, it appears, no one cares?
It seems the people that just log in to camp for lindens in casinos or clubs are best off in this game. Maybe I am approaching the game all wrong.

Well, came back and tried a few things, and it appears to all be working again. I havent gotten my work back, but at least I can now proceed down the road to rebuilding it.

Yup. I can confirm that as well. For all of you who spend much of their SL time doing something productive, today would be a good day to take your loved ones out for the day. SL is not worth the bother at this moment.

The landbot wars have begun in earnest over the past couple of days, with numerous new bots appearing and hammering search every fraction of a second looking for low-priced land. Apparently search and the asset server use the same data pipeline. Coincidence? O.o
But don't worry, folks. LL has been assuring us all along that their servers can more than handle the landbot problem. </sarcasm>

I've tried that website thing... I am not sure WHAT to think of it. They had a bug tracker for a while, but lost interest in it. How long will it take them to lose interest in this thing? There is ONE good thing to it. There was a time when trying to file a bug report caused the client to crash, so at least we'd be able to file a report on it.
