Question about tier?

Ok, my tier was $15 and I bought some property that put me to the next tier, for about an hour, until I resold another property.

So my next tier payment is going to be $25, even though I reset my tier back to $15? And it will start back at the old rate on the next payment after that?

So, I am paying the $25 tier until next payment anyway, and the next payment will be for the previous month, and charged at the rate applicable to the highest amount of land holdings I had for the month?

So, if I understand it right, until my next payment, I can go into the $25 tier at no additional charge, because I already owe it for the current month anyway?

As far as I know, LL charges tier for the highest amount of land ("peak square meter useage" that you have owned at any time during a month. If you go up and down between tiers during the month, it will always charge for the largest amount.

From the Land Use Fee webpage:

"The Land Use Fee is a monthly charge for the peak amount of land held during the previous 30 days, including actual parcels held and land tier donated to groups. See Land Pricing and Use Fees for examples.

Please choose below the ownership tier that best reflects the amount you want to be charged each month for land use fees. When you purchase land or add tier to a group in-world, you will be alerted if the new holdings move you into a higher tier requiring a greater monthly land use fee (if you purchase auction land be sure you read the auction FAQs regarding auction land purchases and tiering). If you choose not to move into the higher cost tier, simply do not complete the land purchase. If you release land holdings or donations and want to receive tier warnings at a new, lower level, you must tier-down using the radio buttons below. (You may remain at the higher tier level without penalty; tier fees are only charged for the total amount of land actually held within your billing cycle.) If you don't lower your tier and purchase more land, no warnings are sent, as you are still within the tier you allotted. "

So basically, you're going to stay at $25 until you select otherwise, and if you select to go down to $15, and buy additional land, the system will automatically bump you up.

Yes. Though from what I understand, while you go UP in tier the instant you peak over your old tier limit, you don't go back DOWN in tier level unless you do it manually. In other words, a few days before you get assessed for your tier payment, go to the website and tier back down to the $15 level, or yoiu'll keep paying $25 a month...

As I understand it, right now your next bill will be for $25. Since you sold that other land, you are back down to holding 2560 sqm (2048+512) or less. You can buy another 2048 and if you sell that and manually drop your tier level down by the tier due date, you'll still be charged just $25 for this month, then back to $15 next month.

Actually no, Ceera. The manual levelers are only for the Warnings. I.e., you only get charged for the peak amount of land you have held any given time in a payment cycle. So, let's say you have 512m2 and you buy another 512m2, it will raise you level to Tier $5. Now, if you sell 512m2, your peak level for that cycle will be 1024m2 but your land hold will be only 512m2. Your Warning level will stay at 1024m2, so should you decide to buy another 512m2, you will not get that Tier increase warning. That's all it's for. It doesn't mean you will be charged that tier level, unless you actually own the land up to that level.
I have my warning level at 8192m2 but only own 4096m2 and only get charged $25.
