Purchase Not Making It To Inventory,,

I made a purchase last evening for a dog, $1500. L, ouch,, and he's not in my inventory last night or today, (after the new down load).

So do keep an eye on your purchases, and if they make it into your inventory. I have written the store owner as well.

This happens from time to time, especially if the sim you are in is behaving badly. Between this and human error (like me misnaming an item in the vendor without realizing it), it's amazing most of us get our purchases at all

IMing the owner of the vendor (not the creator, who often times is a different person), is the best way to go!

Some methods of purchasing require that you pay the object, then take the orginal into your inventory, did you check that you couldn't 'take' the item after buying?

I've had that happen to me once before. Fortunately, the T-shirt I was buying was a lot cheaper than that dog you bought. I would be devastated if I lost out on that expensive of a purchase. Unfortunately, I was the only one having a problem getting an item according to the shop owner. I just assumed it was my crappy connection causing a problem. Thankfully, I haven't had a problem buying furry avatars.

Yeah this happens in my sim a lot. I'm a shop owner and every few days someone IM's me with this problem. It's no big deal to just send the customer a new copy. Sometimes the original transaction doesn't even post for another 12 hours or so. It's weird but eh, I'd rather have a happy customer than a mad customer. Just remember that some people don't login to SL every day, and might not get back to you right away.

I sometimes didnt see the object at first and it was placed in a different folder than I expected.

I hardly buy anything so I usually have to search my OBJECT folder or its listed at the bottom with my other storage folders.

Typing the name of the inventory in the search bar does not always work for me either.

yes, unfortunately this is can happen during heavy gridloads lately... :\ one solution that has helped in the past is to 'clear cache' (like a web browser, sl has its own caching system and it occassionally needs cleared - edit menu -> preferences -> network tab -> 'clear cache' button, you will then need to relog; when you get back, type 'asdf' or whatever into the 'search' field at the top of the inventory box to kick it refreshing again.

alas i hate to say, clearing cache has not often helped lately since 1.17.3 - something about how they rebalance db loads during updates; they kinda tune it 'one way or the other'. lately it seems that instead of the user's inventory just getting a bit 'de-synced' from the grid, that deliveries are actually truly 'getting eaten' by the grid. :\

anyhow, ya might try a 'clear cache' and re-search for it just in case, before contacting the maker. they would like to know if you had at least tried it... good luck!! take care and have fun)

Top o the afternoon to one and all, so many thanks too for each of your kindness and help. You help so often here your just the best. I noticed another post/thread on inventory in the forum, and it/new items, being tucked away in the recent items area, and when I checked this p.m., alas there the fine fellow was, me charming wee Corgi just waiting for me to discover his sweet boxed self. So we're off to discover what games he can play.
