Ok I finished my first month as a premium member after not being one for so long when the option to be a free account came into play and I have been through so many accounts since.

However I am in a bit of a massive panic attack - apparently my account is in negative dollars?

Why did LL not automatically charge my credit card? Is there something I missed to allow them to do that?

Now they are asking for 25 dollars (which I can't afford each month) to put my account back into positive credit. Apparently 25 is the minimum I can credit :S oh dear I am in a panic.

Can someone please help.

Thank you.

Several people have had this problem recently. It usually means LL had a problem charging your credit card. The first thing you should do is re-enter your payment information, and see if LL accepts it. They will run a $1 authorization (not an actual $1 charge) against your card to verify the account.

If they reject it (and you entered your info correctly), that means your credit card company rejected the charge. Many of them are doing that now because there is a lot of credit card fraud connected to SL. You can contact your credit card company (the number is on the back of the card) and ask them if they rejected it, and if they did, ask them to allow charges from SL. If they still refuse, you will need to find a new payment method.

It sounds like you are using the "Increase Your Credit" link, which is the way to add money to your account. The $25 minimum is just for the one-time payment... it is not a monthly charge. It will add the $25 to your account, then use part of it to pay off your negative balance. Any remaining amount will stay on your account as a positive balance, which will be used to pay future bills.

If they fail to bill your card again after the current $25 runs out, you'll need to add more.

I have also heard of another alternative, but I've never tried it. Some say that (after you've verified your payment info) you can initiate a small US$1 linden purchase from in-world, and that will make LL charge your card for your membership bill as well, setting your balance back to zero.

Let us know what you try and what works. :)

Well it seems to have fixed itself after re-entry. Very odd.

Thankies Ava :)

I was really in a panic I thought the end of the world truly had come that time. I have been homeless, broke and lost most of my first life - would hate to loose my second one.

If anyone else has this problem try re-entry of credit card details.
