I can't see half the people doing animations, I can tp somewhere and they are all standing in a default position when should be sitting... Floating text is not always visible. I teleport and the client forces another teleport on me and if I cancel I will need to relog before I move again (this was always a problem but happens more often)
What other problems are people having?
Yes I know I could have opted out or I can go back to the older version, but why the hell can I not go back to the older version with out getting the login delay when it checks for versions and tells me there is a new damn version each time =/

Here's my problem: Big white chunky lines everywhere, messed up text, crash. In that order. Rinse and Repeat every 5-15 minutes.

Yes, animation problems and enforced nakedness. How do you install a previous version?

Thank you SO much Destiny!!!
From the link I was able to download SL without the optional viewer and after a wobbly start - so far so good (keeping fingers crossed)

From: Sensual Casanova Floating text is not always visible. I get all of those problems, too, but for me floating text is rather almost always *not* visible. In addition to that, delays in derezzing objects are completely screwing up many fast-paced and previously entertaining combat sims now

I guess I'm in the minority. Nothing going wrong for me, but they did fix our lazy eyes.

I haven't had any problems with it but I am only one person and I see that many others have problems which means that there are still problems. One thing that still persists after a few upgrades is the crappy fuzzy text. I submitted a bug report and the Lindens are as baffled as I am on how to fix it.

I've been using the new update for a few days now and wasn't really aware of any major problems other than some textures and things like trees seemed to take a lifetime to make an appearance. However I thought it would be interesting to re-install the older version and make a comparison. Wow what a difference, the older version is so much better, clearer and everything appears so much quicker. I'd recommend to anyone a revisit to the older version If you haven't already tried.

Everything seems good here, except that roughly 50% of the time I log in, and everything goes all herky-jerky, like I'm running a slower puter or something. I'll rotate in place, and my surroundings, instead of panning smoothly, jerk all the way around, like a second hand on a clock jumping from one second to the next. But strangely, this only happens about half the time (all in the SAME BUILDING)... weird

Working on a large number of attachments atm. Attaching something fails in 1 out of 3 cases. Either nothing happens and I get the good old "...already pending for this spot" message when trying to put on something else, or the attachments end up between my legs (where some of them belong, but the position is off anyway). Sculpties worked fine since we got them. Now they often don't display right, i.e. at a very low polygon count even when zooming close. Impossible to take any photos for vendor textures, if my product looks like it's made of 8 polygons only. The old reverting texture bug is back too. Unlinking or linking a large number of prims which have been individually textured before kills the texture offset values, sets either horizontal or vertical offset to the same value on all prims. It's a bitch when you just finished figuring out the offset values for 22 HUD buttons, all done with a single texture, and after linking it you can start over again. HUD textures vanish now and then, or get messed up (turn into weird stripes and patterns). Linden vendors (i.e., unscripted prims set to "sell contents" often fail to hand out their inventory lately. I never had as much customer complaints as in the last weeks. And there I thought, getting rid of scripted vendors would not only reduce lag but also vendor malfunctions. Well, at least I can work at all and don't crash every 2 minutes, as with client version 1.17.1.

okay although i may get tomotoes thrown at me this is the first viewer for a long time that i can actually use and well. Whatever was broken in the other viewers done got fixed and with my new super duper video card that's not so super really I've finally been able to stay online for more then 60 seconds and am not crashing.
the only crash i seem to experience is when i swing the camera around a lot (i'm strange i make clothes and avatars and stuff and get on the pose stand and twirl the camera around my avatar several times.) this is the only situation I am crashing in so finally after waiting since january I can FINALLY actually use Second Life again. I was beginning to loose hope
*ducks the tomatoes and runs*

When i selected the option to update my viewer i got the meaasge that it failed "maybe due to my firewall" so i went to the download page and down loaded 1.17.1 which then ment i was crashing on "edit" so i downloaded the patch as directed by the class i was at. This loaded great and cured the crashing but everything is ssssssooo slow.. the next day I clicked on the upgrade to 1.17.2 but got the same message that the download failed. I am not going to bother and am going to revert to 1.17.0 when i am back at home.

For me this is the first time I didn't upgrade. After the edit-crashes (should be fixed now) and many reports of slow rez I will wait until it is mandatory. Version 17.0.12 works well for me. Besides, my main prob (alpha stacking) still isnt solved in the new viewer.

I'm still declining the update still.
The last time I did that, I made it for about a week, and then SL wouldn't load up for me. I broke down and DLed the new viewer that time and suddenly SL loaded again.
I'll be doing the same thing this time....fighting change..argh

I was declining the update, but once a ton of stuff started 'missing from database' I gave in thinking that using the new version might fix the issue. Not the case...with each update I lose something, next one they are gonna lose my money.

Oh gosh, I don't say I'm glad you all are having problems but at least I'm not the only one. My recent tabs inventory doesn't clear anymore, my attachments get that stupid error message and one day I was afraid to leave my house after I logged in because I looked naked even though the message popped up saying my clothes were still downloading though I couldn't see it. Now that turned out to be bull cause i re-logged and i was bald and naked! Then there are the crashes. Before I didn't crash at all and after I was so shocked at my first crash I though I'd dome something wrong. Then I crashed about 6 more times in a row and figured it was not me. Next day same thing 12 crashes, boom boom boom. Creating stuff has almost become a chore. :/ I hope they fix this soon, in the meantime I'm going back to the old viewer. Oh btw does anyone else have login problems to the grid and the site? My friend can't log in. He logged in and bought some L$ then got booted out and now can't even go to hisaccount setting. Any info would be much appreciated. Oh and he already tried contacting support.

I don't do the voluntary udates any more, as a rule - I'd make an exception if I was having big problems with my existing version.
